A Canadian World War I folk art wood carving of a dove of peace. This exceptional and original folk art item depicts a hand and a dove and it came from a Zurich, Ontario folk art carver. It stands 7" tall and is has varying inscriptions including: OCT 1916 (sleeve), ARMISTIC. NOV. 11TH 1918 (sic, base, bird side), PEACE and WAR DECLARED AUG 4TH 1914 (on planchet in bird's mouth) and OCT 1916 (base, hand side). A W.E. Welding Brantford Ontario 4 gallon eared stoneware crock with blue floral decoration 1873-94. This attractive, antique Canadian pottery crock measures 12" tall and 11-1/2" across, it has two ear handles and attractive blue tulips decoration with blue splash over the impressed Welding markings. Welding was in business with W.W. Belding in Brantford (1867-72) and went solo in 1873 after their factory burnt down in 1872. The glaze on this pickle or food storage crock is an attractive deep tan with minor dark kiln shadowing, the floral decoration is only slightly blistered and intact and the interior is intact. It is in very good condition with no damage or repairs other than a base chip to the left of the tulips and a tight, inconspicuous hairline on the backside top rim between the ear handles and a tight, slightly branched surface impact crack beside the decoration which doesn't penetrate to the interior. A 1733 Augustus II Poland death commemoration medal with a 1782 girl's birth inscription pendant. The medal itself measures 1-11/16" across and it is made of silver. It was one of a few different designs minted in Poland honoring Augustus II (12 May 1670 – 1 February 1733) who was the King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania. There are very few of this design (we've found only two examples) and it features a portrait of Augustus on one side and an allegorical scene on the other. This medal has a loop soldered at the top and it was inscribed to honour the birth of Barbara Ann Williamson at Worcester (England) Nov. 24, 1782. This historical artifact weighs 28.9 grams and it is in fair condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than the engraving, the added loop for wear as a pendant and some moderate wear and surface marks from 283 years of existence. This vintage size 7 ring features a natural oval cut deep green genuine topaz gem stone surrounded by a halo of eight ~2 point round brilliant cut genuine diamonds and two baguette cut genuine diamond gem stones. It measures 7/16" x 5/16" across the setting. An Art Deco 14k yellow gold 3 diamonds ring from the 1920s size 6. This lovely, well designed ring features three nice quality diamonds in a white gold upper. The central diamond measures 4 points by gauge and the other two flanking diamonds are approximately 1.5 points each. This ring measures 15/16 x 3/16" across the designed area and setting and it weighs 1.8 grams. This ring is unmarked due to a relatively recent re-hooping which has removed the original markings however this ring tests as 14k gold. A scarce WMF boy with snail pewter card tray circa 1900. This original period Art Nouveau oval calling card salver measures 11" x 5-3/8". it was made in Germany by WMF. WMF is the short form in current company use by the highly regarded German metal manufacturer Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik which began in 1853 in Geislingen an der Steige. This tray has the 210 embossed pattern number and WMFB 0X under the boy's hair on the back. It is all original and not a reproduction and we haven't polished it preferring to maintain the wonderful patina only developed with age (many are over-polished or have been silver plated).
