It also has black patination and hand incising and tooling on both sides and surfaces. The view is a copper bridge over a stream with mountains and trees in the background. It has a pushbutton clasp, a metal cigarette retaining strap and a signature on the back cover which may be a maker's mark or a description of the scene. It has the Japanese rising sun silver mark with STERLING on the inside and it weighs 109.7 grams. A Bennington 19th century dog handle hunting scene large pitcher. This 10-1/4" tall pitcher has the typical Bennington mottled deep brown glaze with green and blue slip and a glazed bottom. The handle is a hunting dog and the body of the pitcher shows hanging game birds. A Victorian 19thC Scottish sterling silver agate kilt pin with a bloodstone. This antique 2-3/8" x 3/8" Scottish pin features fine hand tooling and engraving, it has natural bloodstone and red jasper stones as well as an amber stone which may be natural cairngorm (we haven't had it checked). A C.M. Von Valkenburg Petrolia gold filled pocket watch circa 1900. This 2" across stem-wind pocket watch has a porcelain dial with a single sunk seconds dial and blued hands. It is printed with C.M. VON VALKENBURG PETROLIA (Ontario, Canada) on the face, and the 1-5/8" across works has nice damascening. The works are marked ADJUSTED 2 POSITIONS 17 JEWELS 3876866. We haven't identified the works however the regulator resembles that of Howard or Ball watches. The case is stamped BANNER GOLD FILLED 168653 and it has numerous servicing inscriptions. It has a JES script monogram, and this watch is in very good condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor wear to the gold plating and a small chip to the face at 23 minutes on the dial (covered by the bezel). The mainspring will not hold tension however everything else appears to be working, clean and intact and the time can be easily set. A pair of Helen Kalvak Inuit screened burlap hunting scene pictures. Kalvak (1901-1984) was from Ulukhaktok, Northwest Territories, Canada and she was inducted into the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. This was followed in 1978 by her appointment to the Order of Canada. These screened burlap pictures are framed and they measure 18-1/4 x 15-1/4" and they have a sight size of 13-1/2 x 10-1/4". The wood frames have an antiqued finish and one shows a bow and arrow hunter killing a goose (in natural burlap brown) and the other depicts fishing (in green burlap). They are in excellent condition with no fading, rips, tears, staining, damage or repairs however the backing cardboard on the fishing screen print shows some water discolouration. A George Culley watercolour painting 1981 from Canada. This unframed 15-1/2" x 11" double-sided watercolour on paper is by George S. Culley (Canadian, 1905-?) depicting a shack surrounded by low wooded hills on one side and a trees and yard winter scene on the other. This painting is in excellent original condition with no foxing, staining, bends, tears, losses, damage or repairs other than a thin scrape on the winter scene (see image). It is signed G.S. Culley in red in the left margin on the winter scene and G.S. Culley '81 on the other. The shack scene covers the complete side and the other has pencilled boundaries (image size 14" x 10"). Please note that there are some holes around the unpainted edge from the thumbtacks used by the artist to mount the paper to the easel, and pencil outlines of the image are clearly visible. A vintage 1960s Rosko Japan Hy-Que Speak No Evil mechanical steel and plastic battery operated monkey toy. This famous 17" tall toy has brightly lithographed metal parts and soft rubber hands and head with fur. The clothing is intact and in excellent shape as is the metalwork (it rates a visual C9 to us). The mechanism doesn't work, however the face does light up. The battery tray is clean with only minor stains and it is free of corrosion. This toy is being sold in as described condition without warranty - we haven't tried to repair the mechanism. This item is in as is as described condition.
