A Navajo sterling silver and genuine turquoise cuff bracelet circa 1940 1950. This vintage 5/8" wide cuff bangle bracelet measures 2-1/8" x 1-1/2" across the interior and it features three natural bezel-set gem turquoise stones. They are Sleeping Beauty mine turquoise, lovely in color and quite hard to find now. The bracelet is a dainty classic southwestern design bracelet, for a small woman's or girl's wrist. An Edwardian rolled gold plate bangle bracelet with a purple cut glass stone circa 1910. This beauty a lovely Edwardian design with heart shaped flourishes flanking a large faceted purple crystal. The hollow construction makes it light in weight and comfortable to wear but it looks substantial and it has a pushbutton insert style clasp. Before Rolling Stone turned into an irrelevant pile of commercial crap over 40 years ago, it was at the vanguard of the "Underground Press" - a crude newspaper devoted to the counterculture, drugs, music, uncensored political and sexual expression and all things Hippie. Fortunately, being Canadian, the Georgia Straight of Vancouver carried on the anarchistic torch for a few years after RS gave it up, giving us a ribald and unfettered underground newspaper sold in the British Columbia area. From r-rated underground comics (the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers (FFFB) by Gilbert Shelton, Fat Freddie's Cat, and others) to interviews with counterculture icons, this paper is a window on a long-gone world of late 1960s ideals (it started around the same time as RS in 1967). This is a selection of 14 issues from 1973-74 and although not a contiguous run it gives a great look at the era. Included are the following issues:

A Chinese silver scenic links bracelet from the 1920s. This unmarked (but tested) silver 7-3/8 x 1" bracelet features six curved high relief hand tooled links depicting a dragon, historical figures and flowers. It has a pushbutton box clasp and loops for a safety chain (not present) and it probably dates to the 1920s but it may be earlier. A Fukagawa double gourd vase 1900-20. This fine quality and likely late vintage Meiji-Taishō era 4-3/8" tall Japanese porcelain hand painted vase is by the renowned Fukagawa Porcelain Company firm of Japan c1900-20. This vase has a blue tassel and two painted small floral groups in gold, green, orange and black. There is a gold upper rim. The mark is the Mount Fuji and stream with the Fukagawa signature, identified on gotheborg.com as being is used from 1900-20. We were also informed this was purchased in the 1920s. The darkness under the base is old glue from an applies felt bottom which is no longer present (we will clean the glue residue before shipment). An Edwardian gold filled seed pearl photo locket pendant on chain from the 1900-10 era. A Chisolm Model C1 flip down toaster from the 1930s. This scarce and unusual chrome plated and wood two sided flip down electric toaster is by W.C. Chisholm Mfg. Co. of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This toaster has wooden handles and painted wooden sides on the base; it also has heavy springs keeping the doors shut. The heat wire wrapped mica plates are intact as is the cloth-wrapped original cord. It has a detachable top with a wood handle (possibly for keeping toast warm). It works just fine with lots and lots of heat, and it is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor paint loss to the base wood. We have lightly cleaned it however it still has some grime and stains, all of which can be polished out if you want to spend the time. A Victoria Austria R.S. Prussia ornate lustre teapot. This antique Edwardian bone china porcelain teapot with a floral and lustre finish c1910 stands 6-3/4" high to the top of the fancy finial and it measures 7-5/8" from the spout to the edge of the handle. It was made (and stamped by) Victoria Austria who bought blanks for factory decoration - in this case a genuine R.S. Prussia blank. This lovely tableware serving item has a pale greenish/yellow ground with pink and green floral arrays plus greenish/blue highlights and gold embellishment. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than a bit of wear to the blue/green areas and some minor gold losses and slight chipping to the (hidden) bottom rim. A heavy sterling silver watch chain graduated bracelet circa 1880-1900. This late Victorian 8-1/4" bracelet is made of a piece of graduated watch chain (the links range from 5/16 to 7/16") with a non-rotating sterling swivel. Each link has an English lion silver mark and the swivel has an S.G maker's mark with a lion and k year stamp (probably 1884, possibly by Samuel Garside, a Birmingham silver chain maker). It weighs 36.5 grams and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs. A Loetz Crete Papillon 7" Czech art glass green vase 1890 1900. This period vase has the famous Papillon finish in green (Crete) and this line was introduced in 1898. It has a tapered 3-1/8" across girdle and 2-5/8" base. It is in very good condition with no cracks, wear or repairs however there is a 1/4" rim chip mostly affecting the inside of the rim with minimal impact to the outside - this vase can be ground down to eliminate the chip if you are so inclined. An Edwardian Art Deco sterling silver barrel step cut crystal necklace from around 1920. This beauty features a fine open wire link 16" chain with a hook and eye clasp. The 1-1/4 x 5/8" unmarked pendant features a step-cut rounded barrel style crystal stone claw-set on a mount with an array of white rhinestones. The chain is stamped STER and it weighs 6.2 grams. It is in the transitional style when Edwardian design was becoming Art Deco around 1920, and this necklace is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than the splitting and twisting together of one wire link anchoring the pendant to the chain (it was probably free-swining on the chain originally). An Art Deco floral molded glass and enamel chrome clamper cuff bracelet from 1934. This beauty features a moulded white milk glass floral insert surrounded by pale pink enamel daisy flowers on a wide chrome plated spring-mounted clamper bracelet. It measures 1-3/8 x 1-5/16" across the central panel and it measures 2-1/4 x 1-5/8" across the interior. Although signed only with a patent number (PAT. 1971094, corresponding to 1934) it is finely done with excellent detail and workmanship. A true Deco prize.
