This mechanical marvel features celluloid leaves with handpainted numerals, the top dial for hours and the bottom for minutes. The mechanism flips each page over to tell the time, and it has a round case in sterling silver. Seen occasionally in brass and in lesser metals, silver is very rare and would have been extremely expensive in its day. It has bun feet, a handle and a cylinder of very thin glass for a window. It has retainers to keep the pages open and the winder and adjustment are on the bottom. It has the maker's mark for the Charles S Green & Co Ltd and it has had a professional case-off cleaning and adjusting, involving a complete piece-by-piece disassembly and reassembly. Other than the replacement of the original damaged celluloid page retainer with a hand-cut metal one and a crack and loss to the glass cylinder, this rare clock is in excellent working condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than those noted above. Please note that the cracked glass doesn't show from the front when the clock is displayed.
