A pair of Zig Zag confection tin lithograph premium miniature cups circa 1900. These scarce advertising miniature tin cups were given away as premiums in Zig Zag confections at the turn of the century. The first has floral decoration and the D.L. Clarke company logo and name, a box of the Zig Zag confection and the name of the Franz Euler Co. of New York, the manufacturers of the premiums and advertising items used by Clarke to promote their products. Zig Zag was a product similar to Cracker Jack, and these premiums were included in boxes of the product. The other cup depicts the confection box as well as a picture of Clarke's Zig Zag Pepsin gum. Each is lithographed with bright colours and each has interior and bottom gold toning. They are in very good condition with the following condition issues: 1)the first cup has a bent handle, some minor losses to the gold wash, and some moderate scrapes and dings to the decoration, however the graphics are strong and legible 2)the second (gum) cup has an intact handle and it is somewhat less scraped than the other. An untitled oil on board painting by Lionel Macdonald Stephenson (Canada, 1854-1907) depicting a rocky shore line with island. A 10k yellow gold signet ring with stylized letters 1900-1910. This size 4 gentleman's signet pinky ring measures 1/2" x 7/16" across the top and it has an applied letters monogram which is possibly JJS - it is done in such a way as to vaguely resemble a dollar sign. It is stamped with a maker's mark and 10K, and it weighs 3.0 grams. A superb and vintage Art Nouveau 12-3/4" across Austro-Hungarian ceramic wall plaque depicting a lovely woman with an earring and flowers in her hair c1905. This terracotta plaque is probably by Ernst Wahliss, and it has an impressed flying dove stamp with a pattern number 1518. It also has a pencil notation 5620/23, which was typical. Some Wahliss items had a foil tag which often became lost. It has a brown border, a black ground and an ivory coloured face with brownish hair. This item is in excellent condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than a few slight flakes to the brown border and a fine scratch along her chin. An 18k Gold key wind fancy case open face pocket watch with key circa 1900. This antique yellow gold 1-5/8" diameter watch has blued hands and a textured gold face. The ornately tooled and engraved case is stamped K18 on the crown and WARRANTED 18 CARAT 92971 inside the back. The dust cover also has this serial number along with CUIVRE J.D. A 19thC V. Loria Italy signed fishing boat watercolour. This Vincenzo Loria (Salerno, Italy 1849-1939) 23" x 12" unframed watercolour on (cardstock) board depicts a Neapolitan fishing boat on the water. An excellent painting for its play of light and detail, it is signed V. LORIA NAPOLI in the lower left corner. An antique Fukagawa Nishikide Wara Japanese Imari colour palette biscuit barrel with silver plated mounts c1880s-1910. A Lanternier Limoges hand painted floral vase from around 1900. This subtle and beautiful Limoges French porcelain hand painted vase c1890-1900 vase stands 9-1/4" high and it has a finely painted floral arrangement in subtle pastel shades with gold highlights - the leafy sprigs with purple flowers have subtle green lines and the complex yellow and richly gilded large flowers and leaves have great detail and piped and jewelled thick gold outlines. There are also sprays of gold on the cloudlike satin finish of this decorative piece. It was made by the Lanternier & Co firm, and it is a factory painted piece. A superb and top quality example of Austro-Hungarian glassmaking at its finest. This is a set of six shell shaped cranberry glass nut dishes c1900 with crisp molding and lush encrusted gold decoration. Attributed to Moser, this set is certainly of the expected quality but we can't definitively confirm this. The set consists of the deep 9-1/2" long and 7-1/8" wide master nut bowl as well as five matching 4-1/2" long and 3-3/8" wide individual nut bowls. The allover hand applied gold decoration is superb and it appears on the outer surfaces as well as on the interior. We have seen only a couple of examples of the smaller dishes only, never the full size master nut dish, and seldom in cranberry and rarely with such ornate decoration. A true prize for any serious collection of Moser or European art glass. This unsigned set appears unused, even after 110 years, and it is in stellar original condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than a 1/16" across flake to the edge of one of the individual dish's edges and the expected minor irregularities expected on hand-painted and hand-finished art glass. A scarce Gustave Hauber 800 silver and amethysts brooch circa 1895 1900. This antique German Arts and Crafts silver pin was prodi uced by Gustav Hauber of Schwabisch Gmund, Germany (active 1870-present). It measures 1-5/8 wide and is 2-1/8" long. It has three dangles with facetted natural amethyst gemstones at the end of a poppy like floral pierce-work, plus a central amethyst cabochon. It has the original c-clasp, it is stamped DEP 800 with Gustave Hauber's maker's mark. Arts and Crafts was better known as Jugendstil (young style) in Germany. It weighs 11.2 grams. An Edwardian sterling silver stand up picture frame. This fine hand engraved 9 x 6-3/4" standup picture frame dates to around 1910 and this oval frame has ball feet, a brass support foot (patented May 19, 1908) and the original plush insert. A JG Graves Sheffield sterling silver swing-out key pocket watch 1902. This English sterling silver key wind cased pocket watch is by JG Graves of Sheffield, England. Graves (1866-1945) was a watchmaker, entepreneur and benefactor, and this watch is hallmarked for Chester 1902, with the swing-out case having the Graves maker's mark. The watch is 2" across and the works measure 1-9/16" across the plate. They are inscribed J.G. GRAVES SHEFFIELD REVERSING PINION No688375. The single sunk dial has gold toned hands and it has THE "EXPRESS" ENGLISH LEVER in red and a black script G.S. GRAVES SHEFFIELD (indicating a late issue). It has an engine turned and engraved design on the back of the case and the back dust cover is unmarked. It is key wind and adjustment is by a nut at the pivot of the hands on the dial. This watch includes a later plastic base and dome cover, and it is in good condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs - the case, porcelain dial and works all appear intact, clean and undamaged however this watch doesn't run and the crystal has some minor abrasions. An 18k diamond solitaire ring circa 1900. This size 7-1/2 ring features a 50-52 point diamond by gauge. It is nice and clean looking with good colour and clarity however it has some very tiny chipping around the girdle and it is slightly off round in cut. It is stamped 18K Wm.A.C. and it has "ARTHUR AND DORIS(?)" engraved on the inside of the shank. A Waltham hunter case GF size 6 pocket watch dated 1903. This very nice looking gold filled 1-5/8" pocket watch has a 1-1/4" movement. It was made in 1903 by the American Waltham Watch Company, it appears to be a size 6 Model 1890 (11 jewels) and the hunter case is attractively engraved. It has the same design on both sides and it has a script monogram on one side. The case is a Waltham Cashier 25 year hunter and the movement has the serial number 12285339. This watch runs and keeps time however we haven't had it cleaned and it is being sold as found without warranty. We recommend all timepieces be professionally cleaned and adjusted. An Arts and Crafts period 800 silver and cut glass claret jug circa 1900. This antique large claret decanter has a heavy silver handle and hinged top with a ball thumb rest setd on a cut crystal decanter. It measures 13-7/8" in height and 5-1/2" across the base. It is stamped Gebr. Friedland, a Berlin jewellery retai firml, operated by the sons after the death of the founder Friedland in 1829. It has the German silver quality marks (post-1888 crescent & crown stamp), 800 silver, 49961 and the manfacturer's mark for Koch & Bergfeld of Bremen (est. 1829). There is a very finely engraved heraldic family crest with a fish, knight's helmet with three feathers and engraved scrolling. This this top quality rarity is in excellent condition with no cracks, etching or discoloration, silver corrosion or damage, repairs or alterations; there is a 1/4" chip to the crystal on the bottom rim which is only slightly noticeable when the piece is displayed from that side. A great example of late Victorian Art Nouveau tableware. This is a fine satin-finish green gradient-style serving or candy dish on its original Art Nouveau silverplated stand. The 5" across dish stands 3" high, it has a nice medium green colour and satin finished panels flanked by gloss-finished ribs. The 5-1/2" English-made stand (marked EPNS) stands on bun feet, has has screw and bolt mounts and high relief flowers and leaves on the base; the handles are in the form of sinuous tendrils, a favourite Art Nouveau motif. A hand painted Limoges large roses centerpiece or fruit bowl dated 1903. This wonderfully handpainted 10-3/8" across bowl stands 4" high and 8-1/2" deep, it has a handle on one side, and the painting is of very high quality for a painted blank. A copy of A Wreath of Canadian Song by C.M. Whyte-Edgar dated 1910. This is an original boxed presentation copy with a kid leather soft cover and the original presentation cardboard box with the title sticker. Now reprinted, this is an original with gold stamped embossing on the front and spine. It has the tissue-protected plates and is fully gilded on all edges. It was published by William Briggs of Toronto. Condition is excellent on this 8 x 5-3/8" book and it retains its original page ribbon placemarker. There are no folds, tears, foxing or other damage and there is a short ballpoint pen mark on the front cover which has overhanging edges beyond the pages. The box is rough with the lid having some staining, 3 corner splits and one flap split 2/5 of the way down. The box bottom has edge wear and some tight splitting. We haven't found another copy in this format (all originals so far have a leather wrapped hard cover). A Victorian Edwardian green tourmaline, red spinel and pearls gold plated pendant on chain necklace circa 1890-1900. This 7/8 x 3/4" (including bale) pendant features nine neatly arrayed segments of four stones each - 4 of green tourmalines, 5 of natural small pearls with vivid silver lustre and 5 red spinels in the centers of each pearl section. Sections are divided with gold strips and the two halves of this locket-style pendant are soldered together (it doesn't open). It is rose gold plated and it includes a 20-3/4" fine link chain with a springring clasp. This antique size 3-3/4 or 3.75 yellow gold ring features a central 10 point (by gauge) antique brilliant cut diamond flanked by two similar size opal cabochon gems. The diamond has a lovely clarity, and the opals have blue coloration with orange flash.
