A 14k Birks white gold ruby and diamonds sunburst flower style ring circa 1940s. This size 5-1/2 or 5.5 ring features a round 1/2 carat (50 point) ruby (medium dark, purplish-red, moderately included, slightly chipped) surrounded by twelve brilliant cut diamonds (26 points total, VS, F-G-H colour) in a flower setting. The leaves have a fine beaded edge. This ring measures 9/16" across the setting, it weighs 3.1 grams and it is stamped BIRKS and 14 K. It has a conservative independent gemological appraisal for $1700 (Canadian). An antique 12k gold genuine rhodolite garnets and mine cut diamonds ring circa 1890 1900. This antique size 7-1/2 or 7.5 ring has four genuine true red colour garnets surrounded by twenty genuine mine cut diamonds in a classic marquise shape. This Victorian period piece is unmarked, but has been tested and is confirmed to be 12 K gold. It measures just over 7/8" long and is 5/16" across the elegant marquise shaped setting and it weighs 3.0 grams. Rhodolite garnets most resembled rubies in colour, so were a desirable gem stone even in the 19thC. It is in excellent antique condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. This ring was a popular style at that time, sometimes all in diamonds, but mostly with a less expensive gemstone in the centre for contrast. A Birks Esty Clochette sterling silver & 18k gold set with box. A top quality signed designer 4 pc set by ESTY, made for Birks Canada. It consists of the ring, pierced earrings, link bracelet and the pendant necklace. The ring is size 7-1/4 or 7.25 and it is 5/8" wide. The earrings are 1-3/4" x 5/8", and the bracelet is 7-1/2" long. Yes, one shell hangs one way, and one the other. Not a repair - it was designed that way. The necklace is 16" long and it has a lobster claw clasp and it has a 1-1/4" length pendant. A very early and scarce Arts and Crafts 8" American pottery vase in the Early Velmoss pattern, made by Roseville. An Edwardian platinum emerald and diamonds ring circa 1910. This antique size 6-1/2 or 6.5 ring features a central medium-green genuine emerald with 4 genuine diamonds on each side of the emerald, a total of 8 diamonds. The diamonds are eight single cut diamonds starting at VS-1 clarity and G/H colour (several diamonds are chipped). This ring weighs 2.4 grams and it is marked 900 PLAT 100 IR'D. indicating a 90 per cent platinum and 10 per cent iridium precious metal content. It has an attractive slightly ornate design with some delicate engraved work on each side. A 14K ice hockey award photo locket pendant with diamond 1927 from Cayuga Ontario Canada. An excellent sports collectible and piece of jewellery, this 1-1/4 x 1" (sans bale) pendant has two photo retaining bezels and windows on the interior and a centrally mounted genuine 7 point diamond (by gauge) on the front. It has the recipient's name, ANTHONY MURPHY, on the front and the dedication FROM JACOB KOHLER TO CAYUGA HOCKEY TEAM WINNERS GROUP 9 1927 on the back. Kohler (1860-1934) was an Ontario farmer and politician who was also the reeve of North Cayuga Township). A sterling silver nutmeg grater circa 1890s. It may actually be older. This American antique 1-3/4" x 1-3/8" egg shaped sterling grater has the original interior gilt rasp and interior gilding. Nutmeg was an expensive imported spice when first introduced to Europe and to North America, and it became enormously popular as a condiment. A sterling silver nutmeg grater was a sign of prosperity, as well as indicating a great fondness for the spice, of which aficionados would grate to their own taste when sitting down to eat. Not easy to find them anymore. This antique example features fine ornate leaf hand engraving and a dedication saying Z.S.J. to M.M.J. 25th. Dec 1893. A fine Christmas gift indeed. It is stamped STERLING along the gilt inner rim, the gilding on the interior and rasp is a rich gold in colour and intact. A Royal Dux Woman on Waterfall 440 porcelain figure from the 1912 era with superb detail. This beautifully modeled 15-3/4" Bohemian porcelain figurine depicts a nude woman perched on rocks over a waterfall. This figure has a matte grey glaze with gold highlights. It is replete with much bocage including branches; her face is attractive and finely painted. It has the orange Royal Dux applied triangle mark with an impressed 440 pattern number along with a painted 35 and it dates to the 1910 era. William Comyns English Arts & Crafts sterling nurse's belt buckle, fully hallmarked for London, England 1901-2. This stunning 2 piece buckle weighs 79.6 grams, it measures 4-3/4" x 2-3/4" in total, it has the stylized A&C flower bud in the central sections, and the curvilinear border with beaded pierced gallery gives this piece excellent motion. While William Comyns was a productive producer of silver small wares, his Arts & Crafts period work is not common, and as in this case, it was well made and of excellent quality. An antique 40 drawer pine store spice cabinet. This exceptional 19th century find is most likely Canadian and it dates from the late 19th century to the very early 20th century. It features four rows of ten drawers each and each row has drawers of a different size (one large drawer has a tin divider which may have been added later). All drawers and the back of the cabinet are constructed of tin and the frame and drawer fronts are of old and very heavy pine. It is of forged nail construction and with this many drawers it was undoubtedly from a store, grocer or apothecary and it would be great for hardware, buttons, sewing supplies or just for display. Most of these cabinets are small and either for a tabletop or wall mounted; this one measures 32" x 18-1/2" x 6-5/8" deep. It weighs an impressive 46-1/2 pounds (old, thick pine is HEAVY) and it retains all of its original porcelain knobs or pulls with brass center screws and nuts. It is unsigned and it has been lovingly refinished and there are traces of old paint in the drawers and on the tin backing. It is in excellent condition with no losses, damage or repairs other than a trim loss on the lower right front corner and the refinishing.
