A gilt metal and screen-printed plastic pub advertising sign for Whitbread Tankard beer circa 1950s 1960. This vintage 8-5/8" x 3-1/8" bar table or counter advertising sign has white, gold, red and gold screening on a royal blue plastic oval, set in to a metal tripod-style base. Whitbread Tankard is an English beer, first introduced in 1958 or 1959 by the Whitbread brewery. (The Whitbread brewery is no longrer in business). A Haida west coast Canada native sterling whale pendant on chain necklace. This 1-1/4 x 3/4" pendant has evocative hand decoration of a whale with a different design on both sides and it probably dates to the 1950s. A Victorian ornate embossed link gold filled man's pocket or vest watch chain from the 1880-1890 era. This 8-1/2" man's accessory has a t-bar and a swivel and the links are unusually decorative and fancy with fine embossing on one half of each link. An 800 silver Art Nouveau floral German napkin ring circa 1900. This high style, high relief table decor item measures 1-1/2" wide and 1-7/8" across the interior. The beautiful design goes around the outside and it has a fancy Gothic B monogram as well as a full set of hallmarks from Germany. It also has the maker's mark for Franz Mosgau of Berlin (est. 1807) and this item dates to the 1895-1900 era. It is in very good condition with a small dent/rim split at the top rim of the napkin ring which is at the seam where the silver was soldered into a ring. It has various small and shallow dents and bends most of which are most likely from the hand forming and embossing of this item. An early and unusual pair of c1900 direct reading micrometers by J.T. Slocomb of Providence, Rhode Island. These 6-1/2" long hand-held thickness gauges are similar to the standard shaft-read micrometers except they have an indicator disc and pointer indicating the depth of the measured item (in this case probably sheet metal). They are painted cast iron with machined brass shafts and dials; they are each stamped with the maker's name on the shafts. One has an applied black marking disc with white numerals (up to 250) while the other has a brass face. They are in original untouched condition with only minor paint losses and surface oxidation from age and use; we have lightly oiled the brass and cleaned off the dirt. This pair is in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, losses, damage or repairs other than a bit of surface roughening to the brass and the minor paint loss.
