A Stromberg-Carlson Model 1243 desk telephone from around 1940. This stylish, heavy black painted metal phone is 8" deep and 5-1/2" wide with a 9-1/4" long hand piece. A great display piece or suitable for use, it has been fitted with modern phone jack wiring and it has the original included schematics mounted on the inside with wiring options, etc. A few wire strands are disconnected and we couldn't get a dial tone, but we couldn't figure out the wiring scheme. It is in very good original condition with no overpainting and only minor paint scrapes and minor signs of rubbing and wear. The dial is a bit stiff, and this item is perfect for a good restoration. A pair of Roden (Birks) sterling 1930s napkin rings. Roden (of Toronto) was bought out by Birks in 1928. These 5/8" wide sterling napkin ring measures 1-3/4" across and they have the Roden maker's mark and STERLING. Birks bought all Roden's inventory and parts and molds, and the Roden mark can be seen on some Birks silver items until several years after. This is a 9" across English bone china plate in the Royal Crown Derby 383 Kings pattern. The plate has superb hand painting in cobalt blue, orange, gold and rust red in the Imari palette and it has a ruffled edge. It is stamped with the RCD ENGLAND green mark with the date cypher III for 1940 and it has an underglaze C1 mark. This 5-1/4 x 1" brass and cut French Jet (black glass) watch fob has a swivel and it is complete with a later commemorative oval 1-3/4" x 1-1/4" pressed steel medallion depicting Lord Kitchener. The medal has a high relief portrait of Kitchener (1850-1916) with the legends FEARLESS NOBLE BRAVE AND TRUE and BRITAIN'S NOBLE SON. A vintage two-volume set of "The Letters of Robert Louis Stevenson", selected and edited by Sidney Colvin. The publisher is Metheun and Co., London, England 1900, and this set is the second edtition. Each has hand-cut pages, gilding on the top edge, gilt purple endpapers and cloth bindings with title stickers applied to the spines. Each is tightly bound and includes a tissue-covered plate of Stevenson and an extra spine sticker tipped in to the endpapers. The books measure 6-1/2 x 9" and they have 375 and 384 pages (vol. 1 and 2). This set is in excellent condition with no losses, damage or repairs other than some foxing to the tissue, plate and title pages (not affecting the images) and some slight foxing to the extreme edges of the papers on the outside. Only a few pages have some light spots showing near the extreme edge, and the covers show slight rubbing to the seams and some bruising to the top and bottom of the spines. A decorated 19thC copper lustre child's cann or mug. This vintage mid-19th century 2-1/2" high decorated copper luster mug features a relief beaded rim, lovely metallic copper luster, a blue band with leaf decoration and a white interior with a pink lustre interior rim. An Arts & Crafts patinated bronze ink well from the 1900 to 1910 era. This Edwardian writing or desk accessory features green patination with a fine A&C gold stencil on the front above the pen rest. A cool gold plated green glass bead bracelet from the 1950s. This 7" long triple strand green formed glass beads bracelet has rigid textured gold plated rod links suspending the glass beads. This 1950s bracelet has a snapover catch, and the rods are curved on the outside strands and straight in the center. The beads have subtle green swirls and they are suspended by wire loops. The bracelet would hang 2" wide with the lower bead drop, and this unsigned bracelet is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs, but there is only one additional green dangle at the clasp, I assume there originally were two. A beautiful near mint in box set of two Canada $10 uncirculated bank notes in a padded book-style display binder, a great descriptive booklet and the original 7-3/4 x 7-3/4" box. Issued by the bank of Canada, it shows the $10 bill through the ages and compares the 1986 and 2001 issues in a limited edition of 50,000. The padded black binder has the encased banknotes in plastic in a double-sided page-style holder for viewing both sides.
