Before Rolling Stone turned into an irrelevant pile of commercial crap over 40 years ago, it was at the vanguard of the "Underground Press" - a crude newspaper devoted to the counterculture, drugs, music, uncensored political and sexual expression and all things Hippie. Fortunately, being Canadian, the Georgia Straight of Vancouver carried on the anarchistic torch for a few years after RS gave it up, giving us a ribald and unfettered underground newspaper sold in the British Columbia area. From r-rated underground comics (the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers (FFFB) by Gilbert Shelton, Fat Freddie's Cat, and others) to interviews with counterculture icons, this paper is a window on a long-gone world of late 1960s ideals (it started around the same time as RS in 1967). This is a selection of 14 issues from 1973-74 and although not a contiguous run it gives a great look at the era. Included are the following issues:

A vintage nice & heavy man's 10k yellow gold ring with an oval onyx stone c1950-60. This classic signet style size 8-1/2 gentleman's ring weighs a substantial 10.2 grams. An Italian sterling cutout open heart necklace by Rigon Ottorino of Vincenza from the 1970 era. This fine Modernist style is 16" long and the central heart is 5/8" deep. A pair of Gorham 1190 sterling silver convertible 11-1/4" candlesticks with 3 pieces. These weighted candlesticks include the weighted 4-3/4" bases which act as short candlesticks, the 2-7/8" candle holder bell which can mount to the bases or on top of the 4-1/8" conical taper which can also screw into the base. When all pieces are mounted these fine table decorations are 11-1/4" tall. They have the Gorham marks on the bottom and they are probably from the 1950s or 1970s. They are good quality and they are in very good condition with no monograms, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than some rim denting to the small upper pieces, a small shallow dent to the conical middle piece on one stick and some spotty clouding from old tarnish on one stick which can be polished or buffed if you want to put in the work to do so. An Italy modernist cubist teal glass large display bottle from the 1970s. This 12" tall and 7-1/4" wide bottle retains its original cube stopper; the design is cubist and it would fit in with any modern style decor (beside your German pottery vases).
