An early Victorian 18k Socrates carnelian intaglio signet ring. This antique size 7-3/4 or 7.75 rose gold mid-19th century ring is completely hand made. It and it features a deeply carved carnelian intaglio portrait of Socrates. It is simply executed but stylish with subtle design flourishes. It measures 7/8 x 5/8" across the bezel-set intaglio gem stone. It has a full set of stretched and now obscured hallmarks - it tests as 18K. Although the stone is a substantial size, this ring in the 18thC and 19thC worn on a gentleman's pinkie finger as a pinkie ring. In order to save gold some jewellers would stretch the shank to resize the ring rather than solder another section of gold to effect the sizing and that appears to be the case here. A pair of silver filigree and blue turquoise dangle tear drop earrings from the 1900 1920 era. These 2-1/8" long Edwardian earrings feature fine silver filigree work and natural turquoise cabochon stones and large robin's egg blue teardrop shaped drops. A Forstner hand engraved sterling silver hinged bangle bracelet from the 1950s. This 3/4" wide Forstner bracelet measures 2-3/8" across the interior, it has engraving on one side and it has never been monogrammed. It is stamped FORSTNER STERLING, it has a box clasp and it has a two loops for a (now missing) safety chain. It weighs 28.0 grams and it is in very good condition with no bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than the loss of the chain and some shallow denting on the undecorated side and one dent on the decorated side. A 10k golden yellow sapphire ring from the 1940s or 1950s. This vintage size 6 ring measures 1/2" x 1/2" across the setting. The fine golden yellow marquise shaped stone tests as a sapphire and it is 1.7 carats in size (calculated). This ring weighs 2.6 grams and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs however one end of the stone has a small polished area on the tip indicating a smoothing in the past, possibly to repair a chip. A 14K ice hockey award photo locket pendant with diamond 1927 from Cayuga Ontario Canada. An excellent sports collectible and piece of jewellery, this 1-1/4 x 1" (sans bale) pendant has two photo retaining bezels and windows on the interior and a centrally mounted genuine 7 point diamond (by gauge) on the front. It has the recipient's name, ANTHONY MURPHY, on the front and the dedication FROM JACOB KOHLER TO CAYUGA HOCKEY TEAM WINNERS GROUP 9 1927 on the back. Kohler (1860-1934) was an Ontario farmer and politician who was also the reeve of North Cayuga Township). It is marked 14K with a key maker's mark, it weighs 8.1 g. and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A Scottish sterling silver banded agate sword and shield brooch pin dated 1863. Although a common form this example is one of the most ornate and best constructed we have seen. It measures 2-3/4 x 1", the silver is deeply and intricately tooled and the cut and polished banded agates are well matched and are gray (or grey), white and blue striped. The shield is mounted by wire pins through loops on the sword back and most unusual is a hand-etched British hallmark shield with the letter and number cyphers indicating a manufacturing date of Dec. 6, 1863. This item is in excellent condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a bend to the C from the original c-clasp (easily straightened).
