A Moorcroft art pottery 5-7/8" vase in the Anemone pattern in the flambe line. This vase was produced 1947-53 period. This vintage example is stamped MOORCROFT MADE IN ENGLAND with Walter Moorcroft's monogram underglaze signature and cypher. Walter Moorcroft worked at Moorcroft from a young age, and took over after the death of William Moorcoft in 1945. Moorcroft pottery constantly explored different glazes even with their more popular patterns - the flambe is an interesting brown-orange colour. Pre 1960s Moorcroft still shows the fine quality hand painting with subtle shading in the leaves and flowers, and is understandably more popular with Moorcroft collectors. Flambe pieces are much less common than the blue or green background Moorcroft. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some overall crazing. This vase is vintge and signs of age and use must be expected.

A Staffordshire figurine of a goatherd girl on a goat circa 1930 1850. This antique English figure dates to the early to mid quarter of the 19thC. She is hand painted painted fully on front, sides and back. 1830s -1860. It is a fine looking and well painted example reflecting the 19th century Victorian romanticism about farm and rural life with the advancing age of industrialism. People who lived on farms at the time would have found the concept of a girl riding a goat after gathering a basket of fruit possibly a little odd or possibly amusing. Meissen produced a pair of figurines of a tailor and his wife riding goats in the 18thC - possibly this figure was inspired by that. It measures 7 1/2" in height and is 5 1/2" at the widest. It is in mostly excellent condition except for one detail - the tip of the girl's foot is chipped. Other than that, it is in exceptional shape - no cracks, crazing or repairs, and the paint in in excellent shape. There is a firing crack on the back of the girl's neck, but it is original to the manufacture of the piece, and does not detract. We haven't been able as yet to find which English Staffordshire maker produced this. This figurine is unsigned, as were most figurines. Condition details are noted; items will have signs of use as expected. Condition issues are noted; items are antique and may have signs of use.

A 15k rubies seed pearls shamrocks memento pin brooch from the 1875 era with green, yellow and rose gold. This splendid mid-Victorian 1-3/8" pin has an appealing hand etched floral design with genuine rubies and seed pearls as leaves and flowers. It also features a border with raised flowers alternating with raised and textured shamrocks which have leaves which are split with one side green gold and the other side of each leaf rose gold. On the back it has a compartment with a beveled glass window and retaining bezel which would have probably held a lock or braid of hair but now holds a trimmed tintype portrait of a man. It has a loop for wear as a pendant, it has the original c-clasp and it weighs 11.0 grams (intact). It is typically unmarked and it tests as 15k gold. The hair compartment is quite deep and it would easily hold a gold coin or other memento or even another portrait. A wonderful survivor and an example of the fine quality Victorian jewellers were able to accomplish. It is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor damage to the cut tintype portrait. There is a slight patina from use which is quite exaggerated in our pictures. We gave this pin a simple surface cleaning only, preferring to leave the 150 years of patina intact. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. A Birks 14k man's 3 diamonds row ring in yellow and white gold circa 1950s. The size is approximately size 14, or may be a little larger, as our ring mandrel (ring sizer bar) doesn't go any higher. This vintage gentleman's diamond band is stamped BIRKS (indistinct), it tests as 14k gold and it has an independent gemologist appraisal for $1000 CAD from 2008. The additional marks may have been lost a sizing, as sometimes happens. The diamonds include: one brilliant cut diamond .22 pt diamond of I-1 clarity and F-G colour, two single cut diamonds of SI-2 tand I-1 clarity, I-J colour 0.05 pt total. The ring weighs 4.8 grams. Please note that the large diamond has a very tiny chip, as noted in appraisal, so this factor is included in the independent evaluation. The 1950s modernist design would make this a an affordable choice for a men's wedding/engagement ring. This item is in excellent vintage condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. It does have signs of wear & patination. A rare early Wedgwood tri-colour miniature jasper cameo pin circa 1790 1800. This English Georgian period 2-1/4" x 1-1/4" tri-color jasperware brooch consists of a Wedgwood miniature plaque mounted in a (later) sterling silver setting. The jasper ware cameo dates to approximately 1780-1800, and this beautiful miniature has a very light blue, white and royal blue edge classical scene of a sacrifice to the gods of classic mythology. This exact cameo appears in the top of a patch box in the 1953 Wedgwood book by Wolf Mankowitz, dated to circa 1785 (plate 97). These miniature Wedgwood jaspers were often mounted in the cut steel jewellery popular in the Georgian period, or were sometimes set into the top of boxes, but were also sold unmounted. The mounting for this pin is sterling silver, with a modern period wheel catch, so it would have been set in the sterling setting at a later date. It is impressed WEDGWOOD with a small cross mark, a deep and not perfectly evenly lettered mark as should be expected in a piece of this age. The pin is stamped STERLING and it has a safety catch. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. This antique yellow gold (unmarked but tested and guaranteed) ring features a 3/8" across top which has claw set early silver coloured genuine rose cut diamonds surrounding an emerald coloured glass stone. Emeralds then were a scarce and difficult stone to acquire, so the use of a cut glass "gem" with diamonds was not unusual. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. A later Georgian period 15k yellow gold remembrance or mourning ring with genuine pearls circa 1820 - 1830. This beautiful antique size 6 ring is typically unmarked and it tests as 15k, and it most likely of United Kingdom origin. It has a bevelled glass window for hair (no hair present) and the shoulders are thickly sculpted with a multi-floral pattern sometimes seen on jewellery or decor of this period. This ring weighs 3.7 grams, it measures 1/2" x 7/16" across the pearl setting, and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than an early interior piece of gold added to the interior bottom of the shank to make it slightly smaller in size - this inventive type of ring sizing allowed the ring to be made smaller without cutting the original ring band/shank at all! All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use as would be expected. Silver and silver plated items are hand-polished, not buffed, and our halogens and magnified images may exaggerate otherwise barely noticeable scratches and flaws. All Items : Popular Collectibles : Memorabilia : Royal : Pre 1900 item #1104208 (stock #6591)
A rare set of the Birth of Edward VII comemorative china 1841. This is a grouping of the rarest Royalty commemmorative souvenirs we have encountered - this is a large covered sugar bowl, creamer and two cups and saucers in English pearlware celebrating the birth of (future) King Edward VII in 1841. Given the title Prince of Wales immediately following his birth, this set features the Prince of Wales feathers and a scene with ICH DIEN ("I Serve") on a banner and depictions of the Princess Royal and the Prince of Wales. Decoration is in a transfer blue which is on the outside of all pieces as well as on the interior of the cups; there are Prince of Wales feathers on the inside of the creamer's spout. Interestingly, the finial has been attached with a bolt and screw assembly which has had glaze applied over it. All pieces are unmarked, the sugar with lid stands 7-1/4" high, the creamer is 5" high, the cups are 2-1/2" high, and the saucers are 6-1/8" across. The sugar bowl's finial has purple highlights and considering its age this set is in very good condition with the following issues: 1)sugar bowl - staining and crazing plus fading on the body, tight 1/2" hairline to rim of lid 2)creamer - fine overall crazing 3)cup 1 - remnants of faded and worn feathers at bottom of bowl and loss of blue leaving black on the interior sidewall decoration (probably from bleaching from tea) 4)cup 2 - wear to feathers leaving brown and blue traces, tiny rim chip to cup 5)saucers - excellent condition. A collection-topping prize for the Royalty buff. This set is in very good condition as described above. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface insured tracked shipping to the U.S. starts at $32 (other spots may vary, air is higher) - tracking and insurance are included in shipping quotes. A scarce English Pratt ware Lord Nelson and Capt. Berry jug made between 1798-1806. We believe it was made to commemorate either the Battle of the Nile (a significant English military battle of 1798) or the battle of Trafalgar (1805), a most significant English military battle still commemorated today in England on Trafalgar Day. This 5-3/8" tall pitcher has stylized portraits of Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson and Captain Edward Berry with orange, brown, cobalt and green glazes on the high-relief modelling. Prattware is not often found in perfect condition, and this piece is not, either. This jug is un-restored except for a primitive and early reattachment of the bottom of the handle. There is some interior browning and staining, some overall crazing and some exterior browning on the spout. The bottom of the handle is missing and the bottom third has been crudely cemented in place. This jug is well worth having professionally restored, and it is a seldom seen English historic commemorative. It is in fair intact condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or damage other than stated above.
