An unframed oil on canvas painting depicting a fence and trees on a hillock with a mountain background by Eva Brook Donly (Canada 1867-1941). Born in Simcoe, Ontario, she studied under Frederick M. Bell-Smith at Alma College and the School for Artisans New York under John Ward Stimson. She also studied at the San Carlos Academy in Mexico City under Jose M. Pino. Works by this listed artist (Dictionary of Canadian Artists) are on display at the Eva Brook Donly Museum in Simcoe and in the National Gallery of Canada. An Art Deco 14K diamond stick pin circa 1920s. This vintage stickpin has an approximately 7 point genuine round faceted diamond set in the top section which is white gold. The stone weight is estimated in setting, so it may be very slightly larger. The pin section is yellow gold and 2-1/4" in length. The top measures 1/4" across and all tests at 14 k. This is a 8-3/4" x 7-1/4" numbered, limited closed edition engraving titled "ANGERS, CATHEDRALE" by the German engraver Karl (Carl) Max Schultheiss (1885-1961). Born in Germany, he moved to the U.S. in the 1930s, where he had a 1938 exhibition of his etchings at the Art Institute of Chicago. This etching, in the original 16-1/4" x 16-1/4" black painted wood frame with original mat is signed on the right lower corner; it has an 8/350 number in pencil, and it has an embossed WOLGEMUTH & LISSNER BERLIN printer's mark. The coral coloured tube beads are linked by brass chains and each celluloid link has brass caps. An Art Deco 14k white gold amethyst ring from about 1920. This size 5 oval solitaire ring measures 5/8" x 1/2" across the top and it weighs 4.2 grams. It is stamped 14 K with an arrow maker's mark. The amethyst is a genuine natural stone, is approximately 4 carats in size (estimated in setting by gauge). The elegant scroll and engraving owes as much to the ornate style of the Edwardian period. This fine quality fully hallmarked Art Deco period sterling silver nail buffer has beautiful rose pink guilloche enamel decoration. It is fully hallmarked for Birmingham, England 1925-6, this buffer measures 6" x 1-5/8" and it stands 2-3/8" high. The top features a blue plain enamel interior and the enamel covers the top and the bottom's sides. It has the maker's mark for Charles S. A 950 silver Komai damascene panels bracelet circa 1900 1920. This scarce bracelet from Japan features eleven 1-1/16" x 3/8" loop-linked panels with inlaid silver and gold on a black matte (actually iron) ground. The panels resemble those in room dividing screens, and each has a different design and a simple engraved design on the back of the silver sections. Each bears the D&F CZECHOSLOVAKIA mark of EPIAG PROESCHOLD & CO. and one plate has a 10661Y design number. A beautiful Art Deco period 18k white gold filigree and genuine diamonds lady's ring circa 1920. This lacy basketweave size 5-3/4 or 575 ring has three diamonds, including a 20 point antique brilliant cut diamond and two ~5 point brilliant cut diamonds (all VS clarity, G-H colour). This more ornate design of ring was a hold-over from the Edwardian era. The ring weighs 2.1 grams and it is in mostly excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some noticeable thinning of the bottom of the hoop from wear against another ring. An English hand painted Gaudy Welsh tea set by Allerton's, consisting of the 6" high teapot (including finial), the 5" tall large covered sugar bowl, the 4-3/4" tall milk or cream jug, four 2-1/2" tall cups and four 5-7/8" fitted saucers. Including the lids there are 13 pieces and each is handpainted with cobalt, orange, green and copper lustre. the shape and decoration are undoubtedly those of Allertons however the saucers are marked with what appear to be impressed date stamps (from 1928-29). The sugar and teapot have a 30 mark - it was illegal to sell unmarked china after 1891 so this set would appear to predate that year due to the lack of markings. Or not. This set is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs except crazing to the creamer, sugar, one saucer and one cup.
