Majolica grape and vine pitcher with a pewter lid with a leaf motif, most likely for serving wine outdoors circa 1880s. It is 8-1/2" tall and hand painted in brown, blue and green colors. It is unmarked except for what looks like a 70 painted onto the bottom. Majolica is an antique form of pottery, with a great revival of interest in the 19thC. A 10k yellow gold and deep purple & blue synthetic alexandrite stone pendant necklace circa 1960. This vintage 1" x 3/4" (sans bale) pendant comes with a 10k yellow gold pendant box link chain. A scarce Gustave Hauber 800 silver and amethysts brooch circa 1895 1900. This antique German Arts and Crafts silver pin was prodi uced by Gustav Hauber of Schwabisch Gmund, Germany (active 1870-present). It measures 1-5/8 wide and is 2-1/8" long. It has three dangles with facetted natural amethyst gemstones at the end of a poppy like floral pierce-work, plus a central amethyst cabochon. It has the original c-clasp, it is stamped DEP 800 with Gustave Hauber's maker's mark. Arts and Crafts was better known as Jugendstil (young style) in Germany. It weighs 11.2 grams. An English hand painted Gaudy Welsh tea set by Allerton's, consisting of the 6" high teapot (including finial), the 5" tall large covered sugar bowl, the 4-3/4" tall milk or cream jug, four 2-1/2" tall cups and four 5-7/8" fitted saucers. Including the lids there are 13 pieces and each is handpainted with cobalt, orange, green and copper lustre. the shape and decoration are undoubtedly those of Allertons however the saucers are marked with what appear to be impressed date stamps (from 1928-29). The sugar and teapot have a 30 mark - it was illegal to sell unmarked china after 1891 so this set would appear to predate that year due to the lack of markings. Or not. A superb and top quality example of Austro-Hungarian glassmaking at its finest. This is a set of six shell shaped cranberry glass nut dishes c1900 with crisp molding and lush encrusted gold decoration. Attributed to Moser, this set is certainly of the expected quality but we can't definitively confirm this. The set consists of the deep 9-1/2" long and 7-1/8" wide master nut bowl as well as five matching 4-1/2" long and 3-3/8" wide individual nut bowls. The allover hand applied gold decoration is superb and it appears on the outer surfaces as well as on the interior. We have seen only a couple of examples of the smaller dishes only, never the full size master nut dish, and seldom in cranberry and rarely with such ornate decoration. A true prize for any serious collection of Moser or European art glass. This unsigned set appears unused, even after 110 years, and it is in stellar original condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than a 1/16" across flake to the edge of one of the individual dish's edges and the expected minor irregularities expected on hand-painted and hand-finished art glass. A TJ&J Mayer superb glazed moulded stoneware jug from the 18303s - 1850s. This wonderfully detailed and high quality glazed English high relief stoneware pitcher is 9-1/2" in height. It has a chocolate brown stippled ground on which is laid very thick allegorical scenes with palm trees in greyish coloured clay. It is known as the Paul and Virginia design. The hand-carved detail is stunning and even the handle is decorated with fronds and a stalk. The lip has two holes for the fitting of a pewter lid which was an option with these jugs - this example was never fitted. It has the stamped T.J.&J. MAYERS PATENT mark with DALE HALL POTTERY LONGPORT under the Royal Arms mark which was in use from c1843-55. It also has a No 102 18 pattern mark and the registry number for 1850. This subtle and beautiful Limoges French porcelain hand painted vase c1890-1900 vase stands 9-1/4" high and it has a finely painted floral arrangement in subtle pastel shades with gold highlights - the leafy sprigs with purple flowers have subtle green lines and the complex yellow and richly gilded large flowers and leaves have great detail and piped and jewelled thick gold outlines. A late 18thC Qing Dynasty Canton enamel bowl. This high quality bowl has original gilding and it dates to circa 1770 - 1800. This lobed quatrefoil shaped bowl measures 7-3/4" x 6-1/4" and it is 3-1/8" in height. The enamelling is particularly fine, done to the Chinese taste. The rim of the bowl retains much of its original gilding. The interior is a pale blue enamel, the bottom is speckled white. The upper rim has a Greek key design border. While it doesn't appear to have been much used other than decoratively, this bowl was likely made to be a jardiniere, and may have been used as that previously. It is in excellent condition for its age, with no corrosion, apparent losses, damage or repairs other than a slight touch of wear to the gilding on the edges and some minor discolouration spots to the interior enamel. A beautiful Art Deco period 18k white gold filigree and genuine diamonds lady's ring circa 1920. A sterling silver modern design Consul (Switzerland) ladies wrist watch circa 1970. The brushed face has a gradient colour, from chocolate to golden amber. The hands are silver, and the body of the watch is an abstract modernist plain solid cuff style. The back of the cuff has a clever and unusual gate type of closure to allow it to be easily taken on and off, unlike a cuff bracelet. The clasp works well and there is a safety chain and this watch weighs 48.0 grams. The face is marked Consul and Swiss Made, and it is a 17 jewel manual wind works. The back has an RW mark, as well as 925 sterling mark, a German crescent moon and crown, a floral oval hallmark and the (model?) numbers 5391 and 22. It measures 1 11/16" at the widest but tapers to a width of 5/8" at the narrowest, and the widest interior measurement is 2 3/8" across. It is currently working and keeping time and it appears to be in good working order, but we cannot offer a guarantee as we have no idea when it was last cleaned. A vintage hand painted wartime (disarmed) 17-1/2" mortar bomb with the stamped identification SSE 42 1-1/2 LBT. It has caged fins for stability and it has a an eyehook from which it was suspended from wire for display. It is painted in white, black, red and white and it has the legend "The Brig" in script. An Ando Japanese boxed cloisonne smoking set from the 1960s-1970s. This elegant set consists of the 9-1/2" x 4-3/4" faux alligator papered fitted box, the Japanese language "Cloisonne Making" fold-out pamphlet, the 3-5/8" covered cigarette jar, three 3-3/8" bowl-shaped ash trays, and the 17" x 9-1/2" fringed woven table mat. This set has an Organo mark on the bottom, possibly for Organo of Japan, a now world-wide Japanese company specializing in water treatment (they began in 1946, this may be an older company logo). Purchased by the original owner in 1957 in Italy, this amazing bracelet has top notch hollow construction and the deep resonant gold colour expected of high quality 750 gold. This is a genuine English sterling silver William IV teapot fully hallmarked for London, England 1837. This table serving piece measures 11-1/4" from spout to handle and it has a wonderful bolt-mounted floral finial. It has fine leaf and flower repousse decoration throughout and it stands on four fancy feet. It has the maker's mark for the respected English silversmith firm of Edward, Edward Jr., John and W. Barnard and it weighs an impressive 810 grams. This excellent survivor is in very good condition with no bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a dent on one panel at the shoulder and some looseness at the insulating spacer at the top of the handle from an old repair (the handle wobbles a little). This table serving piece features a bolted and pegged finial with a wing nut and it stands 8-3/4" high. A massive Neoclassic English sterling silver centerpiece basket, fully hallmarked for Sheffeld 1910. Made by the firm James Dixon & Sons, this basket is a prime example of quality Edwardian silver done in the revivial of design from a century earlier. It has gadrooned edges, scroll and leaf edge terminals, and berried wreath designs. This 16-3/4" x 11" beauty weighs an impressive 1010 grams (approximately 32.5 troy ounces) of sterling silver. It was presented as an award, and it has the following inscription at the center of the bowl: PRESENTED TO W.T. GENT, Esqre. J.P., IN RECOGNITION OF 30 YEARS SERVICE AS CHAIRMAN OF THE RURAL DISTRICT COUNCIL OF MISTERTON 11th MARCH 1925." Mr. Gent was the Justice of the Peace of the small town and rural area of Misterton, Nottinghamshire, England, and the inscription also has the names of other council members. This basket is solidly made and heavy, and it was actually plated with sterling over the original parcel gilding (polishing has revealed gilding under polished silver areas, rather than vice-versa). As this basket was bought on the secondhand market for presentation some 15 years after its manufacture, the purchasers opted to silver over the existing gilding, which was considered somewhat ostentatious and contrary to the British taste of the day. Some of the gilding is visible on the ribbon openwork, on the upper section of the base, and on the inscription area. Further polishing will reveal the intact gilding under the thin sterling plating done probably at the time of presentation. This wonderful survivor is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than the areas of exposed gilding. An unusual grouping of eight vintage 1940s moulded and hand painted hard rubber character figures. We haven't been able to identify the series or origin of this set (can you help?), and the largest, Dumbo, measures 2-1/4 x 2-1/2". Each has handpainted highlights in red and yellow and four have black painted shoes. This set includes the Mad Hatter, the Rabbit, Gepetto, Donald Duck, Dumbo, rabbit with heart, Red Queen, and Alice. Each of the tan/grey figures shows some soiling and minor paint wear, and all are unmarked.
