A Franck L. Paris France oil on panel painting dated 1969. An excellent example of 1960s French Modernism, this painting is by the renowned painter Franck.L. and is an early work by this respected artist who is still producing. Born in 1944, he started exhibiting in 1966 and his works have been shown at the Musee d’Art Moderne in Paris. This work is an untitled still life and it was purchased for a London, Ontario home in 1969. It comes with a contemporary linen-bordered 25 x 19" gilt wood frame and the sight size is 20-1/2 x 14-1/2". It is in good condition with a few areas of craquelure with some scattered areas of lost small paint flakes and a diagonal crease with paint loss near the left hand margin however the thinly applied paint wash also has areas showing small areas of plain panel as well which appear to be integral to the original artist's intent.
