A Victorian jet bracelet with carving circa 1870-80. This genuine (tested) jet carved bracelet is in the Aesthetic style. It has elastic cord threading (re-strung)and it has a staggered orientation of the band's panels (possibly strung differently originally). The 1" across top panel and two flanking panels both have decorative carving, the rest are plain polished. A Victorian gold filled photo locket on a fancy rolled gold plate chain necklace from the 1870s 1880s. This necklace is unusual in that it is gold filled and not the typical sterling silver and it features yellow gold plate and a strip of fancy bordered rose gold plate setting off the design. It has a subtle matte finish and the rose gold is glossy and it opens up to show two (very faded) baby photos which both have annotations with names and the date 1900 as well as the paper lining, original glass windows and both bezels. An unusual matching pair of early 19th century carved shell cameo pierced earrings c1820-40. This 7/8" x 3/4" pair is mounted in gilt brass, and they depict two different and facing male Greek mythological or classical figures. One is a close likeness to the statue of Pericles of Athens, not sure who the other figure represents. A scarce World War I era 60" patinated metal and purple cut glass fan or watch chain circa 1915. Unsigned but possibly English, it was common for jewelry at this time to be blackened or patinated so as to avoid flashing and glinting, which could have been seen by the enemy fliers at night. World War I planes were smaller and flew lower, so moonlight reflecting on jewelry allowed people to be seen. The patination made it possible to wear jewelry that was not visible at night, so this style of jewelry became popular until 1918. This watchchain necklace has a large spring-ring catch and swivel, and the chain has oblong loops. This 15-1/2" gold plated brass necklace has a spring-ring clasp and it has five graduated chain and bell tassels suspended from it. This natural mineral crystal is semitranslucent and easily dyed with a linear fiber-like appearance and it is shown to good effect in this post-Deco era set.
