A truly unusual late Victorian rolled gold plate swing-open photo or hair locket brooch c1900. This 1-3/8" diameter pin features a twist border and a bevelled glass window; it has a c-clasp and the back is hinged, opening to reveal a bezel holding the glass. It currently holds a photo but could easily hold hair or other mementos. The back has a primitive snap, and it is stamped PAT. MCH. 13, 1900J.M.F.&Co.; this item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $5.50 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card.
