A Canadian World War I folk art wood carving of a dove of peace. This exceptional and original folk art item depicts a hand and a dove and it came from a Zurich, Ontario folk art carver. It stands 7" tall and is has varying inscriptions including: OCT 1916 (sleeve), ARMISTIC. NOV. 11TH 1918 (sic, base, bird side), PEACE and WAR DECLARED AUG 4TH 1914 (on planchet in bird's mouth) and OCT 1916 (base, hand side). A Fukagawa double gourd vase 1900-20. This fine quality and likely late vintage Meiji-Taishō era 4-3/8" tall Japanese porcelain hand painted vase is by the renowned Fukagawa Porcelain Company firm of Japan c1900-20. This vase has a blue tassel and two painted small floral groups in gold, green, orange and black. There is a gold upper rim. The mark is the Mount Fuji and stream with the Fukagawa signature, identified on gotheborg.com as being is used from 1900-20. We were also informed this was purchased in the 1920s. The darkness under the base is old glue from an applies felt bottom which is no longer present (we will clean the glue residue before shipment). A lake boat solid bronze ship bell from 1900-20. This 8-1/4" diameter unsigned bell was from a Great Lakes ship or boat (possibly a ferry) and it retains its original eye and rod clapper with a loop for a rope pull. It is original, unpainted and in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs however the bell mount for attachment to the boat (an insert sleeve) is missing but one could easily be fashioned. A fine quality lady's gold filled engraved hunter case pocket watch by Regina. Trade marked by the Omega Watch Company in 1911, this example has a serial number corresponding to the period btween 1913 and 1916. The porcelain dial has black markers, a single-sunk seconds dial and blued hands. It is marked with the retailer's name A.M. GILPIN with the town name DUNNVILLE, ONT. (Canada), a small town near Hamilton. The superbly decorated hunter case is stamped 184521 SOVEREIGN GOLD FILLED with the E in a maple leaf mark for Ellis. The 28 mm. works are marked REGINA WATCH Co. SWISS 7 JEWELS 2 POSITIONS 4655766, and this watch measures 36 mm. across. This watch works fine and keeps time, however we recommend that all timepieces should be professionally cleaned and adjusted, and they are being sold as described without warranty. A Scottish agates sterling silver banded agate sword pin circa 1911. This handsome dirk pin features finely banded agate cased in a hand-engraved "sheath"; the hilt of the knife features a cabochon agate stone. It is fully hallmarked for Birmingham, England 1911-12, and it has the maker's or retailers mark for Adie & Lovekin. Many of these pins were made in Scotland and hallmarked in Birmingham, although some were made there as well. It measures 13-1/2" long, the links alternate from elongated diamond shaped in yellow gold with rectangular lined white gold links and it has a swivel and springring clasp. The links are of hollow construction and this fine chain is is stamped 14K on the jump rings and on the inside of the swivel.
