It has ornate engraved shoulders which owe a bit more to the Edwardian era. It is stamped BIRKS 10K with the Birks crown mark and a sideways pear stamp. A Trajan silver drachm ancient Roman coin in an 18K yellow gold pendant. This genuine ancient silver coin depicts the Roman Emperor Trajan on the reverse and it is almost exactly the coin depicted here (combine the link in your browser address bar): www.forumancientcoins.com/ (plus) catalog/roman (plus) -and-greek-coins. It is housed in a custom 18k yellow gold modern pendant setting that replicates a more ancient setting style and it is stamped 18K. A Victorian silver plate rolltop butter dish or server in the Aesthetic style from the 1880s. This antique beauty was made by Meriden and it has all of the hallmarks of quality and Victorian style and mechanical complexity. It has a pedestal base, a handle with floral decoration, high relief borders and a roll top with a pressed floral design. The rolling lid rests on two pins secured with a chained pinion and there are mounts on each side for a pair of butter knives. This steampunk item remains in reasonable condition with a few issues - one knife rest is missing (3 are intact), one side of one mounting bracket for the retaining pins is broken off, there is some pitting on the interior where a (now missing) ice liner would have been and there is a bit of plating loss on a few areas. The rolltop is functional and this would make a great decor item or table centerpiece (and a great "what is it?" for your next dinner party). A hand painted Limoges large roses centerpiece or fruit bowl dated 1903. This wonderfully handpainted 10-3/8" across bowl stands 4" high and 8-1/2" deep, it has a handle on one side, and the painting is of very high quality for a painted blank. Typical in this era, china painting was very popular and some very talented pieces were produced by home amateurs. This example has lovely red roses and green foliage, a pink interior ground with a pair of roses, and gold trim (which required a refiring to set after the firing on of the painting). A German porcelain chicken figural schnapps or liquor decanter with glasses or cups and tray from the 1920s. This set is in orange, green and yellow luster and the cork-lined stopper shaped like feathers lifts off to reveal a filling hole. It is fully hand painted, the chicken is 8-1/2" long, the two-handled tray is 9-5/8" long and the schnapps shot glasses stand 1-5/8" high and fit on indented circles on the tray. This natural mineral crystal is semitranslucent and easily dyed with a linear fiber-like appearance and it is shown to good effect in this post-Deco era set. A Jazz Age Art Deco standing flatware box or chest from the 1930s. This unusual beauty has a silver and red paper Deco design over wood construction and it has a fitted interior. It measures 14-1/2" wide, 5" deep and it stands 11-3/4" tall when resting on its base. It has a silver plated clasp on the hinged lid which opens to reveal the plush-lined fitted interior which has a WM. A. ROGERS silk banner. Very few of these boxes were meant to stand upright, and this one looks great in your deco dining room.
