An authentic and vintage Dutch Delft blue and white 9-1/4" plate. This plate has a floriate design and it has the expected blue-tinged underglaze. This unsigned plate has an underglaze 8, and it is in fair condition with the loss of the glaze around the rim, some rim chips (with crude colour touchups), a glued bisected break and a y-shaped crack meeting at the bisected break. The glue is old-style yellow, and this plate is certainly worthy of restoration. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface insured shipping to the U.S. starts at $14 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $95 if paid with a credit card. Items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. NOTE: we DO NOT accept PayPal, only VISA and MASTERCARD.

All Items : Antiques : Decorative Art : Metals : Silver : Asia Trade : Pre 1910 item #1091013 (stock #6544)
A Chinese export silver 3 piece cruet set with spiders and lizards. This truly unusual and well-made three piece cruet set is in high grade Chinese export silver. Dating to the late 19th-early 20th century, this condiment set has the 2-1/2" high pepper shaker, the 1-1/4" high open salt dish and the 2-1/4" high lidded mustard pot with handle. What makes this set exceptional is the presence of very high relief applied spiders being chased by lizards. The mouths are open on the lizards and the detail is stunning; each piece is on three insect-like legs. Each piece has Chinese silver marks, not a mark I have seen before - but given the unusual use of lizards and bugs, this piece had the look of work by Chinese silversmith Luen Hing. I have not seen this mark attached to any of his known work, so this is merely a speculative opinion. The 3 pc set weighs a total of 115.9 grams, and there is no liner present in the salt dish. This set is in excellent vintage condition with no bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some indenting to two feet on each of the interiors of the mustard and salt pieces, and slight denting on bugs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Expedited tracked and insured parcel shipping to the U.S. starts at $21 (other spots may vary, air is higher). Items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only. An American Federal period portrait miniature of a lady circa 1800. This well painted antique miniature painting on ivory measures 2-5/8" x 2-1/8" is under a glass cover. All Items : Estate Jewelry : Gold : Deco : Pre 1930 item #1099794 (stock #6576)
An Art Deco 14k white gold amethyst ring from about 1920. This size 5 oval solitaire ring measures 5/8" x 1/2" across the top and it weighs 4.2 grams. It is stamped 14 K with an arrow maker's mark. The amethyst is a genuine natural stone, is approximately 4 carats in size (estimated in setting by gauge). The elegant scroll and engraving owes as much to the ornate style of the Edwardian period. The stone has a slightly lighter space of color gradient just off the center as can be see in the blow-up view picture 4. We like to mention all details, it is not too noticeable in real life. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use as would be expected. All Items : Popular Collectibles : Memorabilia : Royal : Pre 1900 item #1104208 (stock #6591)
A rare set of the Birth of Edward VII comemorative china 1841. This is a grouping of the rarest Royalty commemmorative souvenirs we have encountered - this is a large covered sugar bowl, creamer and two cups and saucers in English pearlware celebrating the birth of (future) King Edward VII in 1841. Given the title Prince of Wales immediately following his birth, this set features the Prince of Wales feathers and a scene with ICH DIEN ("I Serve") on a banner and depictions of the Princess Royal and the Prince of Wales. Decoration is in a transfer blue which is on the outside of all pieces as well as on the interior of the cups; there are Prince of Wales feathers on the inside of the creamer's spout. Interestingly, the finial has been attached with a bolt and screw assembly which has had glaze applied over it. All pieces are unmarked, the sugar with lid stands 7-1/4" high, the creamer is 5" high, the cups are 2-1/2" high, and the saucers are 6-1/8" across. The sugar bowl's finial has purple highlights and considering its age this set is in very good condition with the following issues: 1)sugar bowl - staining and crazing plus fading on the body, tight 1/2" hairline to rim of lid 2)creamer - fine overall crazing 3)cup 1 - remnants of faded and worn feathers at bottom of bowl and loss of blue leaving black on the interior sidewall decoration (probably from bleaching from tea) 4)cup 2 - wear to feathers leaving brown and blue traces, tiny rim chip to cup 5)saucers - excellent condition. A collection-topping prize for the Royalty buff. This set is in very good condition as described above. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface insured tracked shipping to the U.S. starts at $32 (other spots may vary, air is higher) - tracking and insurance are included in shipping quotes.
