A heavy 925 sterling silver gate link signet I.D. bracelet from the 1980s. This simple but well-designed bracelet is 7-1/2" long and 1/4" wide. A heavy sterling silver watch chain graduated bracelet circa 1880-1900. This late Victorian 8-1/4" bracelet is made of a piece of graduated watch chain (the links range from 5/16 to 7/16") with a non-rotating sterling swivel. Each link has an English lion silver mark and the swivel has an S.G maker's mark with a lion and k year stamp (probably 1884, possibly by Samuel Garside, a Birmingham silver chain maker). It weighs 36.5 grams and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs. A fine gold filled horse or equestrian gold filled mesh watch chain fob from around 1900. This late Victorian or early Edwardian man's fashion accessory consists of a fine chain with a swivel attached to the pocket clip mount; a mesh strip has a metal mount from which is suspended half of a photo locket which has a high relief horse surrounded by a horseshoe mounted with flashy white rhinestones. All components are rose gold coloured except the locket which is yellow gold filled. It was a fine decorative idea for a man's watch pocket and this is one of the most attractive fobs we've seen. An ornate and richly decorated Chinese cloisonne enamel vase c1900 in the Persian taste. This 16" decorative vase features a blue ground with colourful flowers, leaves, flower buds and branches in pink, white, brown, red, pink, orange, blue and green. The decoration is allover in a chintz style and unusually this vase has a tab style collar standing proud from the body. It also has a pair of gilded animal head handles. A huge Gouda Roma art pottery vase from the Royal Zuid works circa 1950s. This Dutch pottery vase is in white, black and gold. This example is quite large - it stands 7-7/8" high and it is 7-3/4" across at its widest. It has the gold hand written mark for Royal Zuid and it has an artist's signature and a 3125 pattern number. A vintage 1960s Rosko Japan Hy-Que Speak No Evil mechanical steel and plastic battery operated monkey toy. This famous 17" tall toy has brightly lithographed metal parts and soft rubber hands and head with fur. The clothing is intact and in excellent shape as is the metalwork (it rates a visual C9 to us). The mechanism doesn't work, however the face does light up. The battery tray is clean with only minor stains and it is free of corrosion. This exuberantly decorated serving plate has blue trim and wild red roses, yellow and brown tulips and other flowers. It has two eared handles and this Italian ceramic or pottery decorative item is signed FNA 127 and it is impressed ITALY. acob Grimminger sterling silver julep cups or flat goblets circa 1910 1920. These hand hammered tumblers are 3-1/4" in height, made and marked by Jacob Grimminger of Gmund, Germany (established 1895). Being sterling rather than 800 silver, these cups were most likely made for export and they have an Arts and Crafts hammered finish consistent with cups of this period. A Japan 3 footed pink lustre fruit cup and saucer from the 1930s. This vintage 3" high cup and matching 5-5/8" saucer features a dusty pink ground on the saucer and the outside of the cup, which has a white interior with an oil-puddle like multicolour luster. The highlight is a colourful fruit still life on the saucer and small fruit arrays inside the cup. It has gold trim, three gold painted feet and gold sprigs. A Meiji period Japanese natural paper, bamboo and iron hanging Chōchin lantern in its original wood box. It consists of the ebonized hand-cut and bentwood hanger which has iron fittings with handcut nails. It opens around a pinion for mounting. The 8-3/4" diameter lantern is formed from handmade paper fiber and it has a bentwood collar and base with iron fittings. The top fitting has a handle for hanging and the bottom has fittings for hanging depending on the location. The loop is for securing to the hanger, and the interior of the base has a chain also for hanging and a spike for securing a candle. It has the circled feathers Kamon (also called Mon, or a Japanese family crest) painted in black on the paper as well as Japanese letters. The 12" x 5-3/4" box stands 11-1/4" high and it is darkly stained and also has the mon (family symbol) on the front. The lid has a carved carapace, and it is assembled with handmade finishing nails as well. The work and carving are simple and beautiful, and this lantern is a definite prize, especially since it has survived in such good condition and it has the original fittings and box (which has a taped business card with a note in Japanese in the lid). We have owned just a few of the vintage smaller individual lanterns of this type that are usually carried by a person - this type of Chōchin lantern usually hands from a structure. We have never run across an antique example like this with the box. This lamp is in excellent condition with the expected signs of age, including slight rubbing on the box edges, some minor splits and small holes to the old paper and some minor losses or chipping to the Japanned finish on the hanger.
