It sits in the original 8-1/4" long plush fitted box which has a Ridgway's 45-2902 gold stencil mark on the top and a sliding locking bar/plunger to open it. A 10k green jadite or jade filigree cocktail ring from the 1950s. This vintage 5-1/4 or 5.25 size ring weighs 4.2 grams. The fine claw-set stone is a navette or marquise cabochon gem stone shape and it measures 1-1/8" from the tip of the setting to the other tip. The setting itself is 5/8" wide and the setting and shoulders are nicely decorated. It is stamped 10 K however the maker's name and mark have been obscured by what is likely a resizing in the past. A superbly rendered and vividly coloured lifetime woodblock print by the famed Japanese artist Kawase Kasui (1883-1957), entitled "Meguro-Fudo-Do" (Fudo Temple in Meguro). First published in 1931, this is an artist's lifetime strike from the late 1940s to the early 1950s. This print is Oban size (14-1/4" x 9-1/2" image size, 19-3/4" x 14-1/4" frame size). It has the 6 mm. red seal of the publisher Watanabe Shozaburo (seal used from 1946-57). It comes in a red painted bamboo-style frame from that time period, with framing notations on the backing cardboard as well as the original Eaton's frame department sticker. This item has strong colours and the print is in excellent condition with no losses, tears, foxing, fading, damage or repairs. There is some flaking of the red paint on the frame (the shiny paint is about 50% gone however the red stain and black painted highlights remain), and some minor yellowing to the paper from age, not affecting the image.
