A Scottish sterling silver banded agate sword and shield brooch pin dated 1863. Although a common form this example is one of the most ornate and best constructed we have seen. It measures 2-3/4 x 1", the silver is deeply and intricately tooled and the cut and polished banded agates are well matched and are gray (or grey), white and blue striped. The shield is mounted by wire pins through loops on the sword back and most unusual is a hand-etched British hallmark shield with the letter and number cyphers indicating a manufacturing date of Dec. 6, 1863. This item is in excellent condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a bend to the C from the original c-clasp (easily straightened). A classic elegant sterling silver scalloped or Chippendale edge round serving tray by Birks. This sterling tray measures 14 inches across, it weighs 1,049 grams (approximately 33.67 troy ounces), and it comes with the original blue cloth Birks bag and box. It is stamped BIRKS STERLING 89/9 and it has the year stamp for 1972. The tray item is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs, and it has not been monogrammed nor engraved, nor used much, as possibly indicated by the rather clear view of the photographer's mid-section.... A detailed intaglio Laws Scottish family crest sterling silver seal ring from 1900-1930. This vintage size 7 ring features the family crest from the Laws family with a cockerel atop the shield and the quote from Horace (30 BCE) "COMPOSITUM JUS TASQUE ANIMI" which has various translations referring to justice, uprightness and nobility of the soul (one version states "A mind which respects alike the laws of mutual justice and of god"). It is a true seal ring, with the crest in reverse so it will appear correct on the actual seal. It is shown reversed in one of our images so you can read it. This classic gentleman's pinky ring is stamped STERLING. It has signs of an earlier resizing which likely caused the sterling mark to be barely visible in the last two letters and no maker's mark is presentand it weighs 11.8 grams. A huge, beautifully made vintage Mexican sterling articulated fish pendant c1950s-60s. This fabulous 5-3/8" x 1-3/4" pendant is set with inlaid turquoise and it has a turquoise cabochon eye; each vertebra in the skeleton is linked to the next segment with silver loops and each piece bends independently. It has a large bale for hanging and three round holes resembling a fish spine (no turquoise there, nor was there, and the interior of these holes has black patination). This wonderful piece is stamped TAXCO 925 MEXICO MPL and it has a Mexican bell mark with a 2. An early 20th century nickle silver Sturdy ring box from 1900-20. This 1-1/4" across box has an engine turned design with a central medallion which has never been monogrammed. It has a canted profile when opened and it has a velvet and silk interior. It has a pushbutton clasp and it is stamped THOMAS LEES HAMILTON, a jewellery on James Street in Hamilton, Ontario dating to before Canada's Confederation in 1867. The box was made by Sturdy and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A pair of stunning hand painted and gilt metal mounted 19th century Sevres style plant pots or jardinieres. This pair consists of two French porcelain 9-1/2" diameter and 7-3/4" tall planters with white glazed interiors and painted scenes on the exterior. The scenes include floral panels and 18th century couples on a deep turquoise blue ground with hand gilding. Each pot is mounted on a footed gilt brass stand, which has two side straps with lion heads with mouth tassels. Each strap is mounted to a top beaded collar anchoring the pot to the fittings. They have a blue painted Sevres style mark and the uprights are stamped AH on the interior. Condition is reasonable considering their age, with the following issues: there is minor gilding loss, one metal arm/upright has been broken in three pieces and it has been crudely soldered and re-broken, some of the screws are replacements and one segment of one support column has been refastened on a different part of the upper collar on one pot. One pot and fittings is intact, the other needs some professional brazing and refitting of the fractured column. The pots themselves are in excellent condition with no crazing, chips, cracks or repairs other than some minor wear to the gilding and some dulling of the interior bottom glaze from use in the past. We've seen the supports offered online on occasion (rescued from broken examples) so it may be possible to replace the damaged one. This handsome matching pair is in as-described condition as stated above. A stunning Art Deco yellow crystal sterling silver buckle design bangle bracelet from around 1920. This vintage beauty shouts Deco and it has the same silver tooling and buckle clasp as seen on signed DIAMONBAR bracelets by Wachenheimer Bros of Rhode Island (1905-1933) and this is probably an early example. The buckle itself has white rhinestones, the sides are finely and ornately engraved, the interior is cut-out and it is stamped only STERLING. The box clasp and hinge are both heavy duty and the square princess cut lemon yellow crystal stones are a deep and vibrant shade. Yellow was a very popular early 1920s fashion color. It measures 2-3/8" x 2-1/8" across the interior, it is 1/4" thick and it is 3/8" wide. An Art Deco 14k diamond filigree ring from the 1915 - 1920 period. This vintage size 6 yellow gold ring with a white gold top features a 32 point round European antique cut genuine diamond with two flanking diamonds. The diamond is of exceptional (and nowadays very scarce) clarity and colour: it is VVS-2 and F-G colour. A fine gold filled horse or equestrian gold filled mesh watch chain fob from around 1900. This late Victorian or early Edwardian man's fashion accessory consists of a fine chain with a swivel attached to the pocket clip mount; a mesh strip has a metal mount from which is suspended half of a photo locket which has a high relief horse surrounded by a horseshoe mounted with flashy white rhinestones. All components are rose gold coloured except the locket which is yellow gold filled. It was a fine decorative idea for a man's watch pocket and this is one of the most attractive fobs we've seen.
