A Scottish sterling silver banded agate sword and shield brooch pin dated 1863. Although a common form this example is one of the most ornate and best constructed we have seen. It measures 2-3/4 x 1", the silver is deeply and intricately tooled and the cut and polished banded agates are well matched and are gray (or grey), white and blue striped. The shield is mounted by wire pins through loops on the sword back and most unusual is a hand-etched British hallmark shield with the letter and number cyphers indicating a manufacturing date of Dec. 6, 1863. This item is in excellent condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a bend to the C from the original c-clasp (easily straightened). A 9K rose gold Edwardian engraved hinged bangle bracelet fully hallmarked for Birmingham, England 1911. This 1/4" wide hollow bangle features engraving on the front half which extends to the ends of the unengraved back side. It has a hinge, a box clasp and a safety chain. The colour is an intense rose gold and it has both 9 and 375 hallmarks along with an A.L.W.H maker's mark. It weighs 8.3 grams and is in very good condition with no bends, corrosion, damage or repairs however there are three dents on the engraved front one of which has a crack to the gold (see images). A Vict. gp & mop fancy spring extendable watch chain. This truly unusual 12" spring-loaded expanding Victorian gold plated over brass watch chain has with mother of pearl sections. This 1/2" wide chain features engraved round links with pierced loops, round thick plain loops and designed flattened patterned loops; it also has two spring-loaded segments with mother-of-pearl inserted sections. Each spring segment has engraving and finely made pivots and channels for the expansion spring; one has what appears to be either an old repair or for some other purpose, possibly a hanging component. It has one original swivel and one that has been added later; it has no identifying marks of any kind. We haven't seen a chain of this style before, and we've seen hundreds. An excellent curiosity. A 19th century Dutch red glass bracelet with a 14k clasp. This Victorian era 19th century 7-3/4" hand cut red glass bead four strand bracelet is complete with an unmarked but tested 14k yellow gold clasp. The beads have a rich red garnet colour and the 3/4" wide box clasp has three large faceted red glass beads. This late Victorian 8-1/4" bracelet is made of a piece of graduated watch chain (the links range from 5/16 to 7/16") with a non-rotating sterling swivel. Each link has an English lion silver mark and the swivel has an S.G maker's mark with a lion and k year stamp (probably 1884, possibly by Samuel Garside, a Birmingham silver chain maker). This 9-1/4" (maximum) chain shrinks to 6-1/8" when the two engraved slides are separated (which contracts the chain forming a double chain between them, shown partly drawn in our second image). It has a t-bar and a swivel as well as two textured balls which act as stops for the slides. It is stamped W.LH.&Co. on the swivel and it is a neat bit of Victorian ingenuity. An antique 9K men's signet ring with a photo locket top. This Victorian gentleman's size 8-1/2 or size 8.5 ring features a 5/8" x 1/2" upper section fashioned from an actual Victorian hinged photo locket which has been soldered shut and engraved with an ornate Gothic GWS monogram. It has Birmingham, England hallmarks for 1864 (no Queen's head). This ring bears an inscription on the interior under the top section of WITH FONDEST LOVE LIZZIE. It weighs 6.7 grams.
