These 2-1/8" long Edwardian earrings feature fine silver filigree work and natural turquoise cabochon stones and large robin's egg blue teardrop shaped drops. The bottom turquoise drop is substantial, so they make quite a statement. These large drop antique earrings have been converted from the original screw back to pierced mounts. The filigree work is fine and Asian in design. They are unmarked but test as high grade silver. A 10k - 14k diamond wedding band and matching engagement ring set with hearts from the 1940s. This vintage size 5-1/2 set consists of the engagement ring with a central 7 point (by gauge) solitaire diamond and the matching band. Each has 14k white gold tops or upper sections with heart designs. As expected the engagement ring is slightly larger than the band (size 6 and just under 5-3/4). A Scottish sterling silver banded agate sword and shield brooch pin dated 1863. Although a common form this example is one of the most ornate and best constructed we have seen. It measures 2-3/4 x 1", the silver is deeply and intricately tooled and the cut and polished banded agates are well matched and are gray (or grey), white and blue striped. The shield is mounted by wire pins through loops on the sword back and most unusual is a hand-etched British hallmark shield with the letter and number cyphers indicating a manufacturing date of Dec. 6, 1863. A Pforzheim Germany plique-a-jour enamel Arts and Crafts necklace from the 1910 era. This stunning survivor from the Edwardian era was made in the Pforsheim area of Germany which was the center of such items. Plique-a-jour (French: "Light of Day") refers to the labour-intensive technique of repeatedly firing enamel in metal-bordered cells resembling cloisonne, resulting in unbacked transluscent panels. This fine example measures 1-7/8 x 15/16", it has a baroque pearl drop and a pink tourmaline in silver (800 grade or better) with pale lavender purple enamel panels. The best exponent of this work was the firm of Levinger & Bissinger who were prime exponents of the Jugendstil movement. Included is a contemporary associated arts and crafts 25-3/8" chain (stamped STERLING on the hook and eye clasp) from which is suspended the pendant on a 4-1/8" drop with a hook suspension. The pendant has an impossible to read mark which appears to be a diamond cartouche containing a B and a possible animal head - a silver mark but as yet unidentified. This piece looks like the work of Levinger & Bissinger but we are unable to definitively confirm it's one of their pieces. This rarity weighs 7.1 grams and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs; a couple of enamel panels show natural striations form their manufacturing process. A 9k yellow gold Bonzo the dog cartoon animation character charm from the 1940s. This 3/4" hollow charm depicts the famous English Bonzo the Dog character (1922-) . It weighs 0.8 grams and it has a full set of Birmingham, England hallmarks including a W.H.C. mark for the maker W.H. Collins (1936-47) however the year stamp is obscured so we can't give a precise year. A 1733 Augustus II Poland death commemoration medal with a 1782 girl's birth inscription pendant. The medal itself measures 1-11/16" across and it is made of silver. It was one of a few different designs minted in Poland honoring Augustus II (12 May 1670 – 1 February 1733) who was the King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania. There are very few of this design (we've found only two examples) and it features a portrait of Augustus on one side and an allegorical scene on the other. This medal has a loop soldered at the top and it was inscribed to honour the birth of Barbara Ann Williamson at Worcester (England) Nov. 24, 1782. This historical artifact weighs 28.9 grams and it is in fair condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than the engraving, the added loop for wear as a pendant and some moderate wear and surface marks from 283 years of existence.
