This size 5-1/2 ring has a central 9/16 x 5/16" overlay gold front with a Gothic letter (an E or F, we think) with a corner hand engraved embellishment. The flanks are engraved gold as well and the mount has stepped sides. It is marked STERLING with faint signs of other marks which have been lost due to resizing in the past. The central diamond measures 4 points by gauge and the other two flanking diamonds are approximately 1.5 points each. This ring is unmarked due to a relatively recent re-hooping which has removed the original markings however this ring tests as 14k gold. A scarce antique period sterling silver filigree posey holder or tussie mussie c1900. Late Victorian or early Edwardian period posey holders, popularly known as tussie mussies in the UK, were used to hold floral bridal bouquets.
