A vintage 1960s Rosko Japan Hy-Que Speak No Evil mechanical steel and plastic battery operated monkey toy. This famous 17" tall toy has brightly lithographed metal parts and soft rubber hands and head with fur. The clothing is intact and in excellent shape as is the metalwork (it rates a visual C9 to us). The mechanism doesn't work, however the face does light up. The battery tray is clean with only minor stains and it is free of corrosion. This toy is being sold in as described condition without warranty - we haven't tried to repair the mechanism. This item is in as is as described condition. A fine gold filled horse or equestrian gold filled mesh watch chain fob from around 1900. This late Victorian or early Edwardian man's fashion accessory consists of a fine chain with a swivel attached to the pocket clip mount; a mesh strip has a metal mount from which is suspended half of a photo locket which has a high relief horse surrounded by a horseshoe mounted with flashy white rhinestones. All components are rose gold coloured except the locket which is yellow gold filled. It was a fine decorative idea for a man's watch pocket and this is one of the most attractive fobs we've seen. This late Victorian 8-1/4" bracelet is made of a piece of graduated watch chain (the links range from 5/16 to 7/16") with a non-rotating sterling swivel. Each link has an English lion silver mark and the swivel has an S.G maker's mark with a lion and k year stamp (probably 1884, possibly by Samuel Garside, a Birmingham silver chain maker). A superbly rendered and atmospheric lifetime woodblock print by the famed Japanese artist Kawase Hasui (1883-1957), titled "Ikegami Honmonji Temple" (Honmonji Temple in Snow). First published in 1931, this is an artist's lifetime strike from the late 1940s to the early 1950s. This print is Oban size (14-1/4" x 9-1/2" image size, 19-3/4" x 14-1/4" frame size). It has the 6 mm. red lifetime seal of the publisher Watanabe Shozaburo (seal used from 1946-57). It comes in a red-painted bamboo-style frame from that time period, with framing notations on the backing cardboard as well as the original Eaton's frame department sticker. This print is in excellent condition with no losses, tears, foxing, fading, damage or repairs. The frame has some flaking of the red paint on the frame (the shiny paint is about 50% gone however the red stain and black painted highlights remain). There is some minor browning to the paper not affecting the image. Please note we have a similar print from the same period also available. A Gruen Veri-Thin style 474 gold plated wrist watch dated 1941. This 435 caliber high quality retro wind-up manual wristwatch has a single-sunk second hand dial, full Roman numerals and a gold plate L-CRUSADER-3 expansion band with triple segment alternating convex and concave links. The movement features 17 jewels with rubies and it has a 750468 serial number and all of the proper markings. The Star Watch Case Company base metal back has the 434-474 numbers and a 110711 serial number as well as various service etchings. This watch is very clean and it runs and it keeps time however we don't offer a warranty on watches - all timepieces should be professionally cleaned and adjusted. This set is in their Byzanta Ware series and depicts trees and flowers in a kaleidoscopic style view on the 9-1/2" console bowl and twin trees on the 7-3/8" tall candlesticks. This 1-3/8 x 1-1/16" (sans bale) locket features fine detail and hand engraving and it has an applied cross on the front and a lined design on the back. This example features ornate gold stencilling on the black patinated wood, orange bellows and a pierced chrome plated grille. This unit is clean and fully functional (and LOUD) and the straps and bellows are in superb condition.
