A 1733 Augustus II Poland death commemoration medal with a 1782 girl's birth inscription pendant. The medal itself measures 1-11/16" across and it is made of silver. It was one of a few different designs minted in Poland honoring Augustus II (12 May 1670 – 1 February 1733) who was the King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania. There are very few of this design (we've found only two examples) and it features a portrait of Augustus on one side and an allegorical scene on the other. This medal has a loop soldered at the top and it was inscribed to honour the birth of Barbara Ann Williamson at Worcester (England) Nov. 24, 1782. This historical artifact weighs 28.9 grams and it is in fair condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than the engraving, the added loop for wear as a pendant and some moderate wear and surface marks from 283 years of existence. This impressive and ornate English silver plate steeplechase award cup stands 8-1/8" high and 4-3/8" across and this award trophy is in the shape of a goblet or footed cup. This unmarked beauty features high repousse decoration with fruit and scrolling and it has two cartouches with engraved dedications. One side says WINNER OF R.A.C. STEEPLE CHASE with the Royal Agricultural College Cirencester crest and the other is engraved E.A. CLIFFORD AP. 3RD 1867 with a DULCIS AMOR PATRIAE emblem ("Sweet is the love of one's country"). An 18k sapphires and diamonds double row ring circa 1980. This vintage custom made yellow gold wedding band is a size 6-3/4 or 6.75 and set with either genuine blue sapphires or genuine blue spinels and diamonds. It features 12 fairly well-matched channel set royal blue gem stones in groups of four separated by two pairs of single point genuine diamonds. There is a slight variation of shades of blue in the stones, and they are fairly clear gems. The sapphires/spinels are princess cut or square cut, and are bezel set, so their size is 5-6 points each, estimated by gauge in setting. It weighs 3.1 gr. and the flat band design feels comfortable on and sits so could be worn with a solitaire ring. It measures 5/8" across the gem section and is 3/16" wide. It is stamped 750 (for 18 K ). The gem stones may be just a shade deeper blue than our photos, due to photo flash. It would make a unique wedding band for those who would like more than diamonds. A 19thC 12K carved sardonyx Pericles cameo pendant on a 14K chain. This fine Victorian pendant features a finely carved high relief portrait of Pericles in sardonyx, with the face in white and the base on a translucent reddish brown base. The 5/8 x 1/2" (sans bale) pendant is unmarked and it tests as 12k; the later 15-3/8" chain has a springring clasp and it is stamped ECCO14K. This lovely necklace weighs 2.6 grams and it is in excellent condition with no chips, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a small internal crack on the brown base which is barely visible. A genuine Chinese late 19th century oxblood glaze classic bulbous shape vase. This vase is 9-1/8" in height and features the lovely brownish red oxblood glaze over a greyish-white ceramic body. It has fairly thick glaze at the base, which shows some frit. It has allover crazing and the surface of the glaze has fine overall pinpoint pitting from firing as well. It is unmarked and it is in good condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than a small area on the upper rim where there is a dullness in the glaze and small shallow depression. (the rim glaze is mostly intact). The glaze at the bottom shows some chipping also, likely caused during removal from the kiln after firing. Some of these pieces were of lesser quality, as there was pressure to produce them to meet the export demand, even in the 19th century. Subsequently, there was less care in their production than in the finer quality 18th century pieces. That is not true of all 19th and early 20th century Chinese oxblood ware, but some pieces like this show that they were produced more quickly and with a little less care than earlier pieces produced for the wealthier in China and elsewhere. A 19th century Dutch red glass bracelet with a 14k clasp. This Victorian era 19th century 7-3/4" hand cut red glass bead four strand bracelet is complete with an unmarked but tested 14k yellow gold clasp. The beads have a rich red garnet colour and the 3/4" wide box clasp has three large faceted red glass beads. It was obtained from the estate of another similar red glass bead necklace which had Dutch gold marks, and this lovely necklace is in excellent condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some expected minute edge chipping and abrasions to some of the red beads (barely noticeable) and some denting to the clasp.
