An antique Rogers Star silver plated julep or punch or cocktail strainer spoon circa 1890. This 5-3/4" spoon has a pierced 2-3/4" across bowl and it was used to strain fruits and spices from juleps, punch or poured cocktails. It is stamped 1847 R.B. An enamel sterling silver school ring from the 1930s 1940s from the Hanover High School, Hanover Ontario. Established in 1924 this school added "District" to the name in 1953 and amalgamated in 1968 to become the John Diefenbaker Secondary School. This 5/8 x 9/16" wide ring features the school crest with yellow and cobalt blue enamel, which doubtless are the school colours and it also has their school motto "ENTER TO LEARN GO FORTH TO SERVE". School rings haven't been made this way for many years. A Japan 3 footed pink lustre fruit cup and saucer from the 1930s. This vintage 3" high cup and matching 5-5/8" saucer features a dusty pink ground on the saucer and the outside of the cup, which has a white interior with an oil-puddle like multicolour luster. The highlight is a colourful fruit still life on the saucer and small fruit arrays inside the cup. It has gold trim, three gold painted feet and gold sprigs. An 18k yellow gold plique-a-jour enamel stained glass window charm pendant from the 1960s 1970s. Plique-a-jour (French: "Light of Day") refers to the labour-intensive technique of repeatedly firing enamel in metal-bordered cells resembling cloisonne, but allowing light through, resulting in unbacked translucent panels. It weighs 1.3 grams, it is 3/4" across and it is in the form of a church stained glass window with enamel in blue, red, yellow and green. A detailed intaglio Laws Scottish family crest sterling silver seal ring from 1900-1930. This vintage size 7 ring features the family crest from the Laws family with a cockerel atop the shield and the quote from Horace (30 BCE) "COMPOSITUM JUS TASQUE ANIMI" which has various translations referring to justice, uprightness and nobility of the soul (one version states "A mind which respects alike the laws of mutual justice and of god"). It is a true seal ring, with the crest in reverse so it will appear correct on the actual seal. It is shown reversed in one of our images so you can read it. This classic gentleman's pinky ring is stamped STERLING. It has signs of an earlier resizing which likely caused the sterling mark to be barely visible in the last two letters and no maker's mark is presentand it weighs 11.8 grams.
