A Pforzheim Germany plique-a-jour enamel Arts and Crafts necklace from the 1910 era. This stunning survivor from the Edwardian era was made in the Pforsheim area of Germany which was the center of such items. Plique-a-jour (French: "Light of Day") refers to the labour-intensive technique of repeatedly firing enamel in metal-bordered cells resembling cloisonne, resulting in unbacked transluscent panels. This fine example measures 1-7/8 x 15/16", it has a baroque pearl drop and a pink tourmaline in silver (800 grade or better) with pale lavender purple enamel panels. The best exponent of this work was the firm of Levinger & Bissinger who were prime exponents of the Jugendstil movement. Included is a contemporary associated arts and crafts 25-3/8" chain (stamped STERLING on the hook and eye clasp) from which is suspended the pendant on a 4-1/8" drop with a hook suspension. The pendant has an impossible to read mark which appears to be a diamond cartouche containing a B and a possible animal head - a silver mark but as yet unidentified. This piece looks like the work of Levinger & Bissinger but we are unable to definitively confirm it's one of their pieces. This rarity weighs 7.1 grams and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs; a couple of enamel panels show natural striations form their manufacturing process. Established in 1924 this school added "District" to the name in 1953 and amalgamated in 1968 to become the John Diefenbaker Secondary School. A detailed intaglio Laws Scottish family crest sterling silver seal ring from 1900-1930. This vintage size 7 ring features the family crest from the Laws family with a cockerel atop the shield and the quote from Horace (30 BCE) "COMPOSITUM JUS TASQUE ANIMI" which has various translations referring to justice, uprightness and nobility of the soul (one version states "A mind which respects alike the laws of mutual justice and of god"). It is a true seal ring, with the crest in reverse so it will appear correct on the actual seal. It is shown reversed in one of our images so you can read it. This classic gentleman's pinky ring is stamped STERLING. It has signs of an earlier resizing which likely caused the sterling mark to be barely visible in the last two letters and no maker's mark is presentand it weighs 11.8 grams. It is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a light patina from use. A vintage round double link sterling silver charm bracelet with applied textured hearts from the 1970s. This 7-1/8" bracelet is 7/16" wide, it has a stamped STERLING with an H in a triangle maker's mark (for F.A. Hermann, Framingham, Mass. 1908-77), and it has a box clasp with safety loop.
