An enamel sterling silver school ring from the 1930s 1940s from the Hanover High School, Hanover Ontario. Established in 1924 this school added "District" to the name in 1953 and amalgamated in 1968 to become the John Diefenbaker Secondary School. This 5/8 x 9/16" wide ring features the school crest with yellow and cobalt blue enamel, which doubtless are the school colours and it also has their school motto "ENTER TO LEARN GO FORTH TO SERVE". School rings haven't been made this way for many years. It weighs 5.7 grams, it is stamped STERLING with a maker's mark and a maple leaf in a C mark (denoting Canadian jewellery) and it is in very good intact condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs; there is some patination and rubbing from wear. An Art Deco amber cut crystal sterling silver cocktail ring from the 1920 to 1930 era. This size 7 ring measures 1-1/4 x 1/2" across the bezel-set amber cut crystal stone. An early Art Deco 10K yellow gold signet ring with a pearl from the 1920 era. This size 6-1/2 ring measures 9/16" x 3/8" across the top which has MA script initials monogrammed on the 10k yellow gold top which also has a seed or half pearl. It is stamped 10K with a maker's mark and a maple leaf in a C mark for Canadian jewellery. An Art Deco 14k diamond filigree ring from the 1915 - 1920 period. This vintage size 6 yellow gold ring with a white gold top features a 32 point round European antique cut genuine diamond with two flanking diamonds. The diamond is of exceptional (and nowadays very scarce) clarity and colour: it is VVS-2 and F-G colour. The side diamonds total 4 points, this wonderfully styled late-Edwardian/early Art Deco styled ring weighs 2.0 grams and it is stamped 14K with an E in a diamond mark for Eaton's, Canada's premier retailers of finery at this time. It is wonderfully festooned with flowers on the shank and sides and it includes a recent independent, conservative professional gemological appraisal in the amount of $2400CDN. A Pforzheim Germany plique-a-jour enamel Arts and Crafts necklace from the 1910 era. This stunning survivor from the Edwardian era was made in the Pforsheim area of Germany which was the center of such items. Plique-a-jour (French: "Light of Day") refers to the labour-intensive technique of repeatedly firing enamel in metal-bordered cells resembling cloisonne, resulting in unbacked transluscent panels. This fine example measures 1-7/8 x 15/16", it has a baroque pearl drop and a pink tourmaline in silver (800 grade or better) with pale lavender purple enamel panels. The best exponent of this work was the firm of Levinger & Bissinger who were prime exponents of the Jugendstil movement. Included is a contemporary associated arts and crafts 25-3/8" chain (stamped STERLING on the hook and eye clasp) from which is suspended the pendant on a 4-1/8" drop with a hook suspension. The pendant has an impossible to read mark which appears to be a diamond cartouche containing a B and a possible animal head - a silver mark but as yet unidentified. This piece looks like the work of Levinger & Bissinger but we are unable to definitively confirm it's one of their pieces. This rarity weighs 7.1 grams and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs; a couple of enamel panels show natural striations form their manufacturing process.
