A matching English ironstone 8-3/8" tall teapot and eight 4-5/8" petit four plates, all with a tea or tobacco leaf variant in gold with gold trim. The teapot has some relief design on the feet and near the top, and the petit four plates have twelve sides. These items date to the 1860s, and they are in excellent condition with no cracks, losses, repairs or damage other than some overall crazing to the teapot and 3 plates, one plate with a chip to the bottom rim, one with a factory overglazed rim chip, and two with minor staining and crazing. A 19th century Staffordshire flat back china cottage 1850-60s. It is the flat back type, and measures 4 1/4" high and 3 7/16" across. The colouration is simple - yellow ochre and rust-brown. It is overall in excellent condition for its age except for a small chip on the chimney and wear to the painted decoration. The bocage around the roof eaves is in excellent shape (very minor loss, not noticeable) and no cracks, crazing, staining or repairs. Cottages are hard to find, and this is a nice example. A superb quality 19th century hand painted German porcelain double spills vase c1860-80. This decorative mantle piece measures 7-3/4" wide and it stands 7-1/4" tall; it is in the form of a boy at the seashore with waves and two shells acting as the vases. The painting and detail are superb, from the finely painted face to the realistic sand and the painted flowers on the boy's pants. It is marked simply 6371 on the bottom, and this vase is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs. A Davenport 2614 Old Imari 2451 style pattern cup and saucer from 1870-1887. This wonderful fully hand painted English bone china 2-5/8" tall cup and matching 5-5/8" saucer has lush gold, cobalt and orange decoration. The pattern was later copied by Royal Crown Derby as "Old Imari" or "Traditional Imari" (in production from 1902-2014). This scarce cup and saucer has the Davenport mark used from 1870-87 and it is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, damage or repairs other than a tiny 1/16" surface glaze flaw or glaze crack. The cup rings true and on the top and interior edge the flaw isn't visible through the original gilding, which was applied over the flaw at the factory. A Royal Worcester 6-1/4" face or mask jug with gold made in 1897. This exquisitely detailed jug has superb hand applied gold decoration in the form of wild daisies with yellow and reddish centers along with wild grasses. The gold is thickly applied with ridges and jewelling and the ornate handle is gold as well. The mask or face on the spout is crisp and detailed and this jug has the Grainger Royal Worcester China Works mark with the G year code for 1897. The creamy satin finish glaze is quite attractive and this jug or pitcher has a 328 pattern or shape number. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs. An early magenta transfer cup and saucer from the 1830s-1850s. This nice early example of transferware is a 2-3/8" high footed cup and matching 6" saucer with a fine magenta (purple/red) colour floral transfer with handpainted highlights. It has a painted 2/441 pattern mark and a formed fluted column design. The saucer is deep for drinking from (an 18th and 19th century custom) and it is typical for the era. This attractive item is in very good original condition with no cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than a small rim chip on the bottom of the saucer as well as some barely noticeable areas of glaze wear on two flowers and one flute on the cup (see enlargement). An E.J.D. Bodley Bamboo pattern trivet dated 1879. This 6-3/4" hexagonal shaped English bone china trivet was produced by E J D Bodley of Burslem, England. This plate has high relief bamboo decoration with a green border and thickly applied gold highlights; it has the English registry mark for a manufacture date of 1879 (this Bodley mark was used from 1875-92). An early English 7-3/4" high large footed comport or tazza made by Wedgwood in 1878-9. This elegant Neoclassic design table serving piece measures 12-3/4" across the two handles and features fine hand painted gilding, a black transfer design (on top and underneath the plate) and relief molding to the handles, edge and foot. It is in the Corinth pattern, which is marked in underglaze black transfer lettering, and it is impressed WEDGWOOD PEARL with GH over P, 1813 pattern number and a triangle mark. A Minton wild strawberries A2625 hand painted berry or fruit bowl dated 1866. This Victorian beauty measures 9-3/8" across and it features finely handpainted leaves, flowers and wild strawberries all in high relief. This bowl is similar to other antique Minton patterns however we haven't definitively identified it. It has the impressed MINTON mark (used from 1862-71, later MINTONS) and a date cypher resembling that used for 1866. This bowl is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, damage or repairs other than some wear and loss to the paint on the high points of the design. This is minor and most apparent on one strawberry, a few leaves and the roots of the plants. A rare, early English flow blue three piece soup tureen c1850-60. This tureen stands 11" high with the lid, and the matching, fitted underplate measures 14-3/4" x 13". It has a floral style motif, and it has an impressed S as well as a pseudo Chinese mark, minor variants of which were used by Charles Meigh (1835-49), Charles Meigh & Son (1851-61) and also Job Meigh (c1805-34), all of Hanley, Staffordshire; we feel it dates from c1850-60 but it could possibly be of earlier manufacture. A gray transfer covered sauce dish. This early unsigned English covered footed sauce dish dates to circa 1830-50. It has classical scenes and an oak leaf border as well as sculpted handles and feet, all with gray or grey transfer decoration. It is marked only with an impressed P underneath. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some fine overall crazing, three tiny glaze flakes on the lid's rim (two at the opening for the ladle) and a pinpoint burst glaze bubble or small chip on the lid rim (see pic). A pair of 19thC Gaudy Welsh canns or mugs 1820 1850. This matching pair of early to mid 19th century 2-3/4" tall Gaudy Welsh chinoiserie ceramic canns or small mugs feature copper luster and hand painted designs over pink transfer in blue, green, yellow and brown. Although known as Gaudy Welsh, only a small percentage of these attractive pieces were produced in Wales - most were produced in Staffordshire.
