A sterling silver modern design Consul (Switzerland) ladies wrist watch circa 1970. The brushed face has a gradient colour, from chocolate to golden amber. The hands are silver, and the body of the watch is an abstract modernist plain solid cuff style. The back of the cuff has a clever and unusual gate type of closure to allow it to be easily taken on and off, unlike a cuff bracelet. The clasp works well and there is a safety chain and this watch weighs 48.0 grams. The face is marked Consul and Swiss Made, and it is a 17 jewel manual wind works. The back has an RW mark, as well as 925 sterling mark, a German crescent moon and crown, a floral oval hallmark and the (model?) numbers 5391 and 22. It measures 1 11/16" at the widest but tapers to a width of 5/8" at the narrowest, and the widest interior measurement is 2 3/8" across. It is currently working and keeping time and it appears to be in good working order, but we cannot offer a guarantee as we have no idea when it was last cleaned. This 17" long vintage beauty features graduated pink crystal round faceted beads ranging from 3/16" to 5/16" wide. A German Industrial Art Deco celluloid or Bakelite chrome necklace from the 1920s. This evocative beauty features chromed links with layered or stepped segments in the German Industrial Deco style. A 10K white gold synthetic Alexandrite ring circa 1960. This vintage size 5 ring measures 3/8" x 3/8" across the claws, which hold a faceted synthetic Alexandrite stone which changes colour from purple to more of a gray-blue depending on the ambient lighting. These simulated alexandrites are usually corundum laced with vanadium to produce the color change under different types of lighting, or a treated colourless chrysoberyl. This created gemstone has been around for almost 100 years, and the stones usually test as corundums on a gem tester (natural genuine alexandrites are expensive and uncommon, most of what you will see for sale is the simulated version). A lovely mid-Victorian piece of hair jewellery in 10k yellow gold c1860-80. This 1-3/4" x 1-3/8" pendant features a fine hand engraved (unmarked but tested) gold surround with a central concave transluscent moonstone agate, on which is mounted a gold-bordered hair insert. The insert and surround are bolted to the agate with hand-cut bolts, and it retains the original finely braided black hair, bezel and glass window. This item has been converted to a pendant, with a loop attached through a small drilled hole; the hinge for the pin remains and it could easily be converted back to a brooch with the addition of a pin and catch. A 10k pink topaz and diamonds cluster halo ring from around 1970. This size 6 ring features a lovely deep rose pink topaz surrounded by 8 single point diamonds. This ring measures 3/8 x 1/4" across the setting, it is stamped WAL 10K and it weighs 2.0 grams. This yellow gold ring is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. An elegant Edwardian period baisse-taille white enamel and sterling silver brooch with fine engine turning and gold inlay, circa 1910. This antique 2" across pin was made by Blackinton of North Attleboro, Massachusetts (1862-1967), It was constructed from French baisse-taille enamel on sterling mounted with a pin assembly with a safety catch. The bright gold flowers and wreath inlaid on the brooch set it off beautifully against the engine-turned design under the enamel. It has a pattern number 9707, and it has some solder where the company attached the pin to the enamel gilt-silver disc. The entire back is satin finish and gilt - the solder is original to the manufacture of the brooch, and is not a repair (enamel has to be heated with extreme care after manufacture). It is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use as would be expected. Silver and silver plated items are hand-polished, not buffed, and our halogens and magnified images may exaggerate otherwise barely noticeable scratches and flaws.
