A pair of Zig Zag confection tin lithograph premium miniature cups circa 1900. These scarce advertising miniature tin cups were given away as premiums in Zig Zag confections at the turn of the century. The first has floral decoration and the D.L. Clarke company logo and name, a box of the Zig Zag confection and the name of the Franz Euler Co. of New York, the manufacturers of the premiums and advertising items used by Clarke to promote their products. Zig Zag was a product similar to Cracker Jack, and these premiums were included in boxes of the product. The other cup depicts the confection box as well as a picture of Clarke's Zig Zag Pepsin gum. Each is lithographed with bright colours and each has interior and bottom gold toning. They are in very good condition with the following condition issues: 1)the first cup has a bent handle, some minor losses to the gold wash, and some moderate scrapes and dings to the decoration, however the graphics are strong and legible 2)the second (gum) cup has an intact handle and it is somewhat less scraped than the other. A pair of 8-1/2" sterling silver serving spoons in the Strasbourg pattern, introduced by Gorham in 1897. Each has the PAT. 1897 Gorham sterling lion and anchor mark along with an X in a circle and STERLING and each has a script E monogram. The pair of serving spoons weigh 113 gr. An ornate, large 19th century carved bone fan, with fine lace-trimmed silk and metal sequins. This 14" fan extends to 27" across; it features finely carved decorative bone end panels, complex and well-executed silk lace on the upper edge, and sewn gold-coloured spangles or sequins in three different shapes. A Niagara Falls Scottie dog souvenir figurine from the 1910 1920 era. This 5-1/2" long and 3-7/8" tall cast pot metal (probably) figurine has an attached planchet depicting Niagara Falls N.Y. on it's back and the modelling and detail is quite fine. It has been painted gold (possibly not original) and it is unsigned. A Meissen Scattered Flowers demitasse cup and saucer from the 1920s. This Scattered Flowers pattern 2" tall cup and matching 4-7/8" saucer both have hand painted flowers on the saucer and cup exterior; the cup's inside is undecorated and they have gold trim. In production for a very long time this cup appears to be from the 1920s or possibly before, with a paneled design and round non-scalloped edges as well as an angular handle. Both pieces have the crossed swords mark in cobalt and the cup has an underglaze 39 and gold 44 while the saucer has a gold 44 and underglaze 838 14. This fine porcelain item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs except for a small factory frit burn in the cup (the brown dot in our first picture).
