The Kidds Southern Ontario garage band photo circa 1965. This professionally photographed and framed portrait of the mid-1960s garage/psych band The Kidds, who recorded one 45 rpm single record ("Children in Love") for Nestor Records, was purchased at a local auction in St. Catharines, Ontario (near Niagara Falls), the hometown of the band and many others of the era. The 14-1/2 x 11-1/2" photo is matted in a 20-3/4 x 16-3/4" black painted wood frame and it is initialed on the lower right by the photographer. It is high quality and genuine, and most likely unpublished. There is a documentary on Niagara area bands which features the Kidds, and using that and the invaluable help of the kind people at the Garage Hangover internet site we have a positive identification of the band. Interestingly this photo is NOT shown in the documentary although lots of other items are featured (search for Miil for The Big Story of Small Potatoes documentary). A search will bring you to the full documentary. A must for the garage band archivist, or the band member who doesn't have a copy. An Aynsley 28 yellow and pink roses tea cup and saucer from the 1970s. The teacup is 2-5/8" high and the matching saucer is 5-3/4" across. It has a petal and leaf relief shape with a scalloped edge and gold trim and it would make a lovely display as well as a very nice teacup for your tea or coffee. The roses have green leaves and yellow petals tipped with pink and the stems are red. It has a rose inside the cup and gold trim and gold patterned borders. A vintage hand painted wartime (disarmed) 17-1/2" mortar bomb with the stamped identification SSE 42 1-1/2 LBT. It has caged fins for stability and it has a an eyehook from which it was suspended from wire for display. It is painted in white, black, red and white and it has the legend "The Brig" in script. This Art Deco set comes in its original fitted box, and it consists of the 13-3/8" carving knife, the 12-3/4" sharpening steel, and the 11" carving fork. A 9K yellow gold man's pocket knife fully hallmarked London, England 1950. This classy gift or men's accessory measures 3-1/4 x 7/16", it has thick engine-turned gold panels enclosing the two blades and it is fully hallmarked and dated 1950 with an SJR maker's mark (for S.J. Rose). Each gold cover is hallmarked and the hinges or rivets are covered by the engine turned design. The blades are marked STAINLESS SHEFFIELD and this knife has never been engraved or initialled.
