Clarke company logo and name, a box of the Zig Zag confection and the name of the Franz Euler Co. of New York, the manufacturers of the premiums and advertising items used by Clarke to promote their products. A Victorian child's ironstone dinner set circa 1860 with 35 pieces. This rare and early 35 piece set is one of the most complete we have encountered, and it has many serving pieces; it has a black transfer design. All Items : Popular Collectibles : Memorabilia : Royal : Pre 1900 item #1104208 (stock #6591)
A rare set of the Birth of Edward VII comemorative china 1841. This is a grouping of the rarest Royalty commemmorative souvenirs we have encountered - this is a large covered sugar bowl, creamer and two cups and saucers in English pearlware celebrating the birth of (future) King Edward VII in 1841. Given the title Prince of Wales immediately following his birth, this set features the Prince of Wales feathers and a scene with ICH DIEN ("I Serve") on a banner and depictions of the Princess Royal and the Prince of Wales. Decoration is in a transfer blue which is on the outside of all pieces as well as on the interior of the cups; there are Prince of Wales feathers on the inside of the creamer's spout. Interestingly, the finial has been attached with a bolt and screw assembly which has had glaze applied over it. All pieces are unmarked, the sugar with lid stands 7-1/4" high, the creamer is 5" high, the cups are 2-1/2" high, and the saucers are 6-1/8" across. The sugar bowl's finial has purple highlights and considering its age this set is in very good condition with the following issues: 1)sugar bowl - staining and crazing plus fading on the body, tight 1/2" hairline to rim of lid 2)creamer - fine overall crazing 3)cup 1 - remnants of faded and worn feathers at bottom of bowl and loss of blue leaving black on the interior sidewall decoration (probably from bleaching from tea) 4)cup 2 - wear to feathers leaving brown and blue traces, tiny rim chip to cup 5)saucers - excellent condition. A collection-topping prize for the Royalty buff. This set is in very good condition as described above. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface insured tracked shipping to the U.S. starts at $32 (other spots may vary, air is higher) - tracking and insurance are included in shipping quotes. Items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. PLEASE NOTE: we DO NOT accept PayPal, only VISA and MASTERCARD.

A Victorian Aesthetic brass dress hem lifter circa 1880. This unusual Victorian design object was made to hold up the hem of a lady's dress. It sounds a little risque, but sometimes you preferred those long skirts not to be near water or mud, as is only sensible. In the Aesthetic design popular at the time (and swans certainly were popular), this solid brass clothing accessory clamps the bottom of the lady's dress with the tongs, which are locked in place by the sliding shield-shaped housing. A cord looped through a (now missing) brass loop at the top of the slider is pulled to raise the hem of the floor-length skirt. It has the word PATENT on the tongs, and this unusual item is in excellent original condition with no dents, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than the missing loop and some minor bending of the shield edges. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use.
