An Art Deco French jet and orange cut glass beaded flapper sautoir necklace with a tassel from the 1920s. No Jazz age flapper would have been complete without a necklace that moved with a tassels - people danced more at parties and weddings in that time. A beautiful, vintage Art Deco period Industrial-style chrome and celluloid necklace c1930. Made in Germany by Jakob Bengel, this high-style beauty has a 19" split rod-link chain with a springring catch with tortoiseshell celluloid spacers. The 2 x 1" pendant has fine stepped chrome trim with a large tortoiseshell celluloid center with a chrome accent. An outstanding Art Deco sterling silver enamel and marcasites pendant necklace circa 1930. The pendant itslf measures 2" x 1" (including enamelled bale loop). It features colorful matte enamel in of geometric flowers in lilac, yellow, orange, lime green, blue and black with various sizes of marquisites. Please note that the colors may appear several shades brighter in our pictures than they are in real life, and the blue is a light royal blue, not turquoise. It is stamped EN in a kidney-shaped cartouche and STERLING on the back - we are still researching the maker. it weighs 7.5 grams (pendant only). We were unable to find any corresponding information about this mark, at first glance it looks very much like a piece produced by the Theodor Farhner firm, who were well known for such fine matte enamel finishes and the extensive use of marquisites. It is shown with a very recent sterling silver chain which is not included. This item is in good condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion or repairs other than a visible loss to the red-orange enamel and a couple of very short surface abrasions to the blue (just visible with a loupe). A Birks 14K gold charm bracelet with 7 different 14k or 18K figural charms circa 1930s and possibly later. The bracelet itself is 7-1/2" long and the loops are 1/4" at widest. The charms are:
- an 18k gold ladies figure skate with a white painted enamel except for the skate inner flap, which is red. About 1/5 of the enamel is worn, otherwise quite intact. 3/4" x 5/8".
- a moveable 18k Italian Commedia dell'Arte sad clown figure. He is not always shown with the pointed cap, and the face is a bird mask. Modern versions of this figure rarely show that cap, now it is usually a rounded one. His arms and legs move freely. The large round raised dots are meant to represent his oversized pompoms. 1-3/8" tall.
- a 14k Spanish bullfighter/toreador with cape and bull. 7/8" tall.
- an 18k Venetian gondola boat with gondolier figure. 1-1/8" length.
an 18k donkey or pack animal with harness and saddle. 3/4" x 1/2" tall
- a 14k horn - it is either an older bugle horn or a traditional hunting horn. 3/4" x 1/2". (585 mark).
- an 18k bucket with handle containing a champagne bottle (European hallmarks, possibly French). 3/4" tall.
The bracelet is stamped BIRKS and 14Kt on one side. The charms are all stamped on the charms or on the attached loops. The charm measurements do not include the bale loops as part of the height measurement. The bale loops are all soldered except for the figure skate. The bracelet weight is 21.1 grams. It is in very good vintage condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than a loss of painted enamel white to the skate and some off rounding to the ice bucket, making it slightly out of shape shape. An unusual horseshoe shape shell cameo brooch in a gold filled setting circa 1920 - 1930. This vintage beautifully carved cameo was designed for a family with a passion for horse racing. It measures s 2-1/8" x 1-7/8", it has a safety catch and it has a swing-up loop for wear as a pendant. The carving is quite fine and the setting has a maker's mark of WRJ (W.R. Johnson, Toronto). A Chinese articulated silver gilt fish pin circa 1930s. This fantastically detailed and superbly constructed 2-1/2 x 3/4" fish pin is lushly gilded and it is fully articulated and it has natural coral eyes. It has a safety clasp and the mouth is hinged and opens (for what purpose we don't know).
