A Victorian gold filled photo locket on a fancy rolled gold plate chain necklace from the 1870s 1880s. This necklace is unusual in that it is gold filled and not the typical sterling silver and it features yellow gold plate and a strip of fancy bordered rose gold plate setting off the design. It has a subtle matte finish and the rose gold is glossy and it opens up to show two (very faded) baby photos which both have annotations with names and the date 1900 as well as the paper lining, original glass windows and both bezels. The locket measures 2-1/4 x 1" (including bale) and it comes on a fancy 19" long and 5/16" wide rolled gold plated chain which has a springring clasp and a safety chain. The back of the locket is undecorated and this beauty is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than a small shallow dent on the back of the locket.
