An enamel sterling silver school ring from the 1930s 1940s from the Hanover High School, Hanover Ontario. Established in 1924 this school added "District" to the name in 1953 and amalgamated in 1968 to become the John Diefenbaker Secondary School. This 5/8 x 9/16" wide ring features the school crest with yellow and cobalt blue enamel, which doubtless are the school colours and it also has their school motto "ENTER TO LEARN GO FORTH TO SERVE". School rings haven't been made this way for many years. A true rarity of vintage American pressed or pattern glass. This is the 5-1/4" long and 4-5/8" wide wall pocket in the Elephant or Jumbo pattern in amber glass, issued by the King Glass Co. in 1890. Variously described as a match holder, match striker, wall pocket or vase, this item has vivid and crisp detail. It is 2-3/4" deep and is guaranteed to be antique glass. This item is in fair original condition with no chips, losses, damage or repairs other than a large internal crack below the eye and above the tusks. This crack is visible from the front and around the back and it appears to be a dividing line between the light upper glass and the deeper amber hue of the glass in the trunk. An exceptional and elegant antique Edwardian gold filled 1" diameter photo locket with lovely engine turned purple and white enamel plus seed pearls. It has a ring of leaves on white enamel surrounding the center and the back is undecorated and it has never been monogrammed. A pair of stunning hand painted and gilt metal mounted 19th century Sevres style plant pots or jardinieres. This pair consists of two French porcelain 9-1/2" diameter and 7-3/4" tall planters with white glazed interiors and painted scenes on the exterior. The scenes include floral panels and 18th century couples on a deep turquoise blue ground with hand gilding. Each pot is mounted on a footed gilt brass stand, which has two side straps with lion heads with mouth tassels. Each strap is mounted to a top beaded collar anchoring the pot to the fittings. They have a blue painted Sevres style mark and the uprights are stamped AH on the interior. Condition is reasonable considering their age, with the following issues: there is minor gilding loss, one metal arm/upright has been broken in three pieces and it has been crudely soldered and re-broken, some of the screws are replacements and one segment of one support column has been refastened on a different part of the upper collar on one pot. One pot and fittings is intact, the other needs some professional brazing and refitting of the fractured column. The pots themselves are in excellent condition with no crazing, chips, cracks or repairs other than some minor wear to the gilding and some dulling of the interior bottom glaze from use in the past. We've seen the supports offered online on occasion (rescued from broken examples) so it may be possible to replace the damaged one. This handsome matching pair is in as-described condition as stated above. A huge, beautifully made vintage Mexican sterling articulated fish pendant c1950s-60s. This fabulous 5-3/8" x 1-3/4" pendant is set with inlaid turquoise and it has a turquoise cabochon eye; each vertebra in the skeleton is linked to the next segment with silver loops and each piece bends independently. It has a large bale for hanging and three round holes resembling a fish spine (no turquoise there, nor was there, and the interior of these holes has black patination). An authentic antique late Georgian period 15k ring with genuine pearls and natural and genuine emeralds circa 1820 1830. This beautiful size 4-1/2 or 4.5 yellow gold ring is unmarked and it tests as 15k, and it is most likely English in origin. It has a 2 mm. across natural emerald at the center and six small emeralds gem stones between the pearls, all in a flower shape arrangement. It also has pearls along the finely tooled shoulders and the grooved shank has appears never to have been sized or altered. There are naturally occurring colour variations in the pearls, but they are over-emphasized in the photo, less noticeable in real life (one pearl may be a replacement). This ring weighs 2.5 grams, it measures 5/16" across the flower head. A scarce and unique find, and a special wedding or engagement ring (would be a really fine birthday ring also!). A detailed intaglio Laws Scottish family crest sterling silver seal ring from 1900-1930. This vintage size 7 ring features the family crest from the Laws family with a cockerel atop the shield and the quote from Horace (30 BCE) "COMPOSITUM JUS TASQUE ANIMI" which has various translations referring to justice, uprightness and nobility of the soul (one version states "A mind which respects alike the laws of mutual justice and of god"). It is a true seal ring, with the crest in reverse so it will appear correct on the actual seal. It is shown reversed in one of our images so you can read it. This classic gentleman's pinky ring is stamped STERLING. An English late Victorian mother of pearl handle fish set for six in fitted case 1890 1900. This set includes six 6-1/2" fish forks and six 7-3/8" scimitar-shaped fish knives. A Scottish sterling silver banded agate sword and shield brooch pin dated 1863. Although a common form this example is one of the most ornate and best constructed we have seen. It measures 2-3/4 x 1", the silver is deeply and intricately tooled and the cut and polished banded agates are well matched and are gray (or grey), white and blue striped. The shield is mounted by wire pins through loops on the sword back and most unusual is a hand-etched British hallmark shield with the letter and number cyphers indicating a manufacturing date of Dec. 6, 1863. A stunning Art Deco yellow crystal sterling silver buckle design bangle bracelet from around 1920. This vintage beauty shouts Deco and it has the same silver tooling and buckle clasp as seen on signed DIAMONBAR bracelets by Wachenheimer Bros of Rhode Island (1905-1933) and this is probably an early example. The buckle itself has white rhinestones, the sides are finely and ornately engraved, the interior is cut-out and it is stamped only STERLING. The box clasp and hinge are both heavy duty and the square princess cut lemon yellow crystal stones are a deep and vibrant shade. Yellow was a very popular early 1920s fashion color. This authentic military collectible has a 16" collar (hook to hook), it is 40-3/4" long and it has one closure with two button holes. An 18k yellow gold plique-a-jour enamel stained glass window charm pendant from the 1960s 1970s. Plique-a-jour (French: "Light of Day") refers to the labour-intensive technique of repeatedly firing enamel in metal-bordered cells resembling cloisonne, but allowing light through, resulting in unbacked translucent panels. It weighs 1.3 grams, it is 3/4" across and it is in the form of a church stained glass window with enamel in blue, red, yellow and green. It is stamped with the French eagle head mark (for 18K gold) and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs.
