An E.J.D. Bodley Bamboo pattern trivet dated 1879. This 6-3/4" hexagonal shaped English bone china trivet was produced by E J D Bodley of Burslem, England. This plate has high relief bamboo decoration with a green border and thickly applied gold highlights; it has the English registry mark for a manufacture date of 1879 (this Bodley mark was used from 1875-92). It is stamped BODLEY B E.J.D.B Y3570 on the back, and this dinnerware item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs. An antique Dutch silver hand made miniature fireplace from 1900 or earlier. This unusual and well-made decorative miniature stands 1-5/8" high and 1-7/8" wide. It has a tooled gallery around the back plate, an integrated fire fender and floor surround and a space in the bed of the fireplace possibly for a wood cradle or grate (not present). It has an array of silver stamps including the Dutch sword mark and others - some may be import and maker's marks or resale marks (Dutch items were required to be marked each time an item is sold). This hand wrought decorative miniature weighs 19.6 grams and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs however there are two solder bumps at the top of the back plate where it may have had hoops attached for wear as a pendant at some time in the past. An English polychrome blue & white transfer milk jug circa 1850. This 19th century decorative 5-3/4" tall jug measures 6-1/2" from spout to handle, and it has a Chinese scene design. The colours are green, teal, orange and yellow and the design is continued on the inside upper rim and spout. It has only an incised mark and a green semicircle with dot mark, and this jug is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor surface scratches to the paint at shoulder level. A Staffordshire figurine of a goatherd girl on a goat circa 1930 1850. This antique English figure dates to the early to mid quarter of the 19thC. She is hand painted painted fully on front, sides and back. 1830s -1860. It is a fine looking and well painted example reflecting the 19th century Victorian romanticism about farm and rural life with the advancing age of industrialism. People who lived on farms at the time would have found the concept of a girl riding a goat after gathering a basket of fruit possibly a little odd or possibly amusing. Meissen produced a pair of figurines of a tailor and his wife riding goats in the 18thC - possibly this figure was inspired by that. It measures 7 1/2" in height and is 5 1/2" at the widest. It is in mostly excellent condition except for one detail - the tip of the girl's foot is chipped. Other than that, it is in exceptional shape - no cracks, crazing or repairs, and the paint in in excellent shape. There is a firing crack on the back of the girl's neck, but it is original to the manufacture of the piece, and does not detract.We haven't been able as yet to find which English Staffordshire maker produced this. A 19thC china child with doll in washtub figurine. This unusual and well made hand painted late 19th century porcelain figural whimsey or decorative figure is of a girl holding a Pierrot doll over a washtub. This European 3-5/8" across and 3-3/4" high figurine has gold trim and fine handpainting; it is unsigned except for a 2219 (or 2279) and a 49 stamped on the bottom. This item is in very good original condition with no cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than some paint scrapes to the hat, a shallow chip or flake under the hat's rim (just visible to the left in the pictures) and some minor gold loss. A Minton wild strawberries A2625 hand painted berry or fruit bowl dated 1866. This Victorian beauty measures 9-3/8" across and it features finely handpainted leaves, flowers and wild strawberries all in high relief. This bowl is similar to other antique Minton patterns however we haven't definitively identified it. It has the impressed MINTON mark (used from 1862-71, later MINTONS) and a date cypher resembling that used for 1866. This bowl is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, damage or repairs other than some wear and loss to the paint on the high points of the design. This is minor and most apparent on one strawberry, a few leaves and the roots of the plants. An ornate Victorian or early Art Nouveau period silver plated belt circa 1895 - 1900. This antique hand engraved 25-3/4" long belt consists of a two-part 2-3/4" wide ornate buckle with tongue and loop clasp, which is attached to fancy 1-1/4" across hand engraved panels linked with wire loops with small spacers. It is stamped EPNS with an FFE maker's mark in a shield and it can be shortened by the removal of some of the spacers. This item is in excellent antique condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A 19th c. hand painted toleware large tray. This decorative, vintage and stunning handpainted and signed large toleware display or serving tray dates to around 1860. This 24-3/8 x 19-3/4" painted metal tray features a large central basket of colourful and varied flowers; it has a floreate stepped edge and the G. J. Rudolph artist's signature. We have been unable to get any information on this artist, however the painting is superb. This all-original piece has slight and attractive alligatoring, and it is in superb original condition with no scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a few small spots of gilding loss around the rim. An attractive Ridgways Chiswick pattern sauce tureen in the flow blue colour circa 1900. This 8-1/4" long and 5" high lidded two-piece English ironstone serving dish features dark blue flow decoration, it has the registry number 235284 (for 1894), and it is in very good original condition with no chips, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than a tight and fully intact crack to the underside rim of the lid (see images). A Davenport 2614 Old Imari 2451 style pattern cup and saucer from 1870-1887. This wonderful fully hand painted English bone china 2-5/8" tall cup and matching 5-5/8" saucer has lush gold, cobalt and orange decoration. The pattern was later copied by Royal Crown Derby as "Old Imari" or "Traditional Imari" (in production from 1902-2014). This scarce cup and saucer has the Davenport mark used from 1870-87 and it is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, damage or repairs other than a tiny 1/16" surface glaze flaw or glaze crack. The cup rings true and on the top and interior edge the flaw isn't visible through the original gilding, which was applied over the flaw at the factory. A gray transfer covered sauce dish. This early unsigned English covered footed sauce dish dates to circa 1830-50. It has classical scenes and an oak leaf border as well as sculpted handles and feet, all with gray or grey transfer decoration. It is marked only with an impressed P underneath. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some fine overall crazing, three tiny glaze flakes on the lid's rim (two at the opening for the ladle) and a pinpoint burst glaze bubble or small chip on the lid rim (see pic). An R.A. Kidston 20" London scene United Kingdom meat platter circa 1840. This is an early Scottish large blue transferware well and tree meat platter in blue transfer. This platter stands on two bracket feet and the juice well; it is stamped R.A.K. & Co. UNITED KINGDOM LONDON for R.A. Kidston and Co. Finnieston (part of Glasgow) Scotland who used this mark from 1838-1845. The Coysh & Henrywood Blue and White Printed Pottery reference book mentions this series, but not this actual scene of London - I have never run across this pattern piece before. It is in good condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some fine overall crazing, a bit of minor bruising to one foot rim (intact with no losses), a 5/8" edge chip and some staining (mostly on the back). A pair of Gorham sterling salt dishes with spoons dated 1889. This embossed pair of 19th century salt cellars are 2" in diameter and they feature floral embossing and scalloped rims; they are stamped with the lion/anchor/G Gorham mark, STERLING, 2235 (pattern number) with the Gorham 1889 year mark. The pair of 2-1/8" long sterling silver salt spoons also have the Gorham old hallmark with STERLING, and they are in the Colonial pattern by Gorham, which was introduced in 1885. This set of two salts and two spoons weighs 40.4 grams, and they are in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A wonderful antique decorative pair of oval ornate Victorian period sterling silver bowls or baskets, fully hallmarked London, England 1895-96. These high style late Victorian dishes measure 6-3/4" x 5", and are just over 1" deep. They have high relief repousse Gothic designs and pierce-work panels, and they have a W.R.C. maker's mark for William Richard Corke. There is also a British registry number stamped in the rim of both bowls - it looks like RD. 248864. They are heavier than the usual pierce-work English sterling dishes you normally find from this period - one basket weighs 81 grams, and the other 83 grams - and are a lovely quality pair of dishes. Other than a few minor rim bends, they are overall in excellent vintage condition, with no dents, monograms, corrosion, repairs or damage. It is an open edge, so this is restorable. A fine quality two piece antique Gorham sterling string holder, made by Gorham 1890-1900. This lovely string holder weighs 3 ounces, and its pierced design allows you to see if you will soon need more string. It measures 3-1/4" in diameter and it stands 3-1/4" in height. It has the Gorham maker's mark with STERLING B1294 on the bottom, and this item is in excellent condition, with no monograms, corrosion, repairs or damage; there is a tiny dent on the bottom.
