This 5-1/4" dish has a swing-up pierced handle and a thick pierced silver mount, which has the mark STERLING as well as an obscured maker's mark; it would make a great bonbon or mint dish. A 19thC framed watercolour picture of a child 1860-80. This late Victorian period unsigned framed water color on paper is a piece of early memorial folk art and it was possibly made by a family member as a reminder of a deceased child, with typical muted colours and austere pose. This Victorian picture is a lovingly made piece, most likely a memorial painting, with a hand-cut deep red velvet mat, a gilt paper mount from a photo-album page and a black and gilt frame with applied brass Coptic crosses in each corner. The image alone measures 5-1/2" x 4" (sight size), the frame is 14" x 12", and it has a unique back closure - a cut wood ruler screwed to the frame with brass screws (later addition, and removable). It retains its original black backing paper and glass, and this unsigned piece of Victorian folk art is in excellent vintage condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs except for some minor finish chipping at the frames ends. A Whiting Madam Morris sterling gravy ladle circa 1909. This 7-1/8" long sterling silver gravy ladle is in the Madam Morris flatware pattern, introduced by Whiting in 1909. The bowl measures 2-1/2" x 2-1/4" and it is 3/4" deep. This this serving piece weighs 64 grams (over 2 ounces of silver). It has not ever been monogrammed. An early magenta transfer cup and saucer from the 1830s-1850s. This nice early example of transferware is a 2-3/8" high footed cup and matching 6" saucer with a fine magenta (purple/red) colour floral transfer with handpainted highlights. It has a painted 2/441 pattern mark and a formed fluted column design. The saucer is deep for drinking from (an 18th and 19th century custom) and it is typical for the era. This attractive item is in very good original condition with no cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than a small rim chip on the bottom of the saucer as well as some barely noticeable areas of glaze wear on two flowers and one flute on the cup (see enlargement). This super Deco necklace has stepped coloured celluloid beads imitating the look of tortoiseshell, with brass balls; it is strung on string and it has a box clasp. A splendid 17-1/2" carved and lathe turned bakelite necklace c1920s-30s. This necklace consists of turned and hand-carved bakelite beads in oval, round and barrel forms; the colours include off-white, swirled tan, 2 colour pale green and brown. Most beads have variable colour layers and stripes, and the between triple disc striped spacers are all one piece. This unsigned necklace has the original brass barrel clasp and it ranges from 3/16" to 3/4" wide. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs. A large Art Deco silver plated bracelet circa 1930. This retro Industrial design conversation piece consists of six 1-1/4" wide and 2-1/4" long slightly conical panels all together. The panels have semi-circular arches standing 1/4" above the surface of the links. Amazingly this fine piece of work is unsigned, it has a safety chain with a snap-over clasp. At the narrowest end it measures 2-1/4" across the interior, and this bracelet is in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A fine hand painted and gold trimmed Dresden factory painted porcelain lidded jam or marmalade pot by Donath & Co. c1900. This 5-1/2" tall serving piece features different floral scenes on each panel between the footed columns and on the lid; it is marked with DRESDEN with the crown mark for Donath & Co. (1893-1916), and it has a gold rose painted over the Thomas maker's name. It also has the retailer's stamp for Ryrie Bros. Ltd. of Toronto (who were bought out by Birks in the 1920s). A huge Continental blue aurora borealis rhinestone brooch and matchingclip on earrings circa 1950s. The 3" across brooch and 1-1/8" x 1/2" earrings are unmarked but are undoubtedly by Continental. They were possibly made by Delizza & Elster who supplied some of their pieces. They are clae-set and high quality. The blue aurora and light blue stones flash brilliantly. A German porcelain chicken figural schnapps or liquor decanter with glasses or cups and tray from the 1920s. This set is in orange, green and yellow luster and the cork-lined stopper shaped like feathers lifts off to reveal a filling hole. It is fully hand painted, the chicken is 8-1/2" long, the two-handled tray is 9-5/8" long and the schnapps shot glasses stand 1-5/8" high and fit on indented circles on the tray. The chicken has an impressed 7791 and a few other stamped numbers, some glasses have impressed numbers and a few are incised GERMANY.
