All Items : Archives : Estate Jewelry : Gold : Victorian : Pre 1910 item #1319136 (stock #7158)
An antique 14k opals and diamonds and synthetic ruby ring circa 1900. This classic late Victorian period yellow gold ring is set with two natural round cabochon opals with four antique cut genuine diamonds on each side of a central lab created ruby. This size 7 ring has natural opals with fine green and blue fire and a fiery orange internal color. The genuine diamonds are approximately 2 - 2.5 points each and the central synthetic ruby is 4 mm. across. These rings were often engagement or wedding rings for those who could afford them, diamond-only engagement rings didn't become popular until the 20th century. Synthetic rubies of this period were what we refer to as lab created gems now, they are treated genuine lesser price actual gem stones. The lab treatment gives them the appearance of genuine high price gem stones. White sapphires were and occasionally still are a stone of choice, they wear well also, as sapphires are a 9 on the Mohs stone hardness scale. Cut glass or rhinestone copies of stones are not the same. It measures 5/8" x 3/16" across the setting, the ring is unmarked due to a probable re-hooping in the past. It tests as 14k gold,) and it weighs 3.1 grams. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some slight dulling to the surface of the opals from light wear commensurate with their age. All condition issues are noted. All items are vintage or antique and may have signs of use and patina as would be expected. Expedited parcel post to the U.S. starts at $25. An 18k sapphires and diamonds double row ring circa 1980. This vintage custom made yellow gold wedding band is a size 6-3/4 or 6.75 and set with either genuine blue sapphires or genuine blue spinels and diamonds. It features 12 fairly well-matched channel set royal blue gem stones in groups of four separated by two pairs of single point genuine diamonds. There is a slight variation of shades of blue in the stones, and they are fairly clear gems. The sapphires/spinels are princess cut or square cut, and are bezel set, so their size is 5-6 points each, estimated by gauge in setting. It weighs 3.1 gr. and the flat band design feels comfortable on and sits so could be worn with a solitaire ring. It measures 5/8" across the gem section and is 3/16" wide. It is stamped 750 (for 18 K ). The gem stones may be just a shade deeper blue than our photos, due to photo flash. It would make a unique wedding band for those who would like more than diamonds. It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs, it has patination from use. For those preferring an appraisal, we can have it done, with the buyer paying for appraisal at time of purchase. A 14K Australian black opal ring circa 1960s with intense color. This vintage opal is a genuine opal gem stone, most likely from the Andamooka area in Australia. It has been sugared (treated with sugar and acid) to deepen the colour. Andamooka opals can be great quality, but treating them to intensify the color has been done for many years. The setting is an abstract modern design in 14 K yellow gold, custom made for the opal. It is a size 7-3/4 or 7.75 and the opal is a cabochon opal measuring 24mm x 12mm x 4.4mm - approximately 7 carats in size. It has a fantastic colour play including intense red, green, blue, gold, orange and purple. Our pictures don't do this stone justice, and the view of the ring on a hand shows the intensity of the colours. It is stamped 14 K and this is a genuine opal all through, not a doublet. It comes with a recent independent professional gemological appraisal for $3500 CAD which does mention the sugar enhancement, so it is factored into the value given. The ring weighs 7.3 gr. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. The stone does have some minor crazing, as mentioned in the appraisal. All condition issues are noted. All items are vintage or antique and may have signs of use and patination as would be expected. GUARANTEE: ALL of our items are antique or vintage and from the period listed. Courier post to the US starts at $110 (other spots may vary, air is higher). Items paid with a credit card will be sent to confirmed addresses only. All of our prices are in $US. PLEASE NOTE: We DO NOT accept PayPal.

A man's 14k white gold genuine blue star sapphire ring c1960s. This classic size 8-3/4 men's ring measures 1/2" across the setting and the claw-set oval cabochon gem stone is a 1.5 carat (calculated by gauge) genuine blue star sapphire. The double star refraction appeared under our spot lights in the photograph, but we consider this to be a single refraction stone. It is a fairly clear star refraction in real life, with only a slight wavering to the star legs. This elegant vintage gentleman's ring weighs 6.0 grams and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. Great birthday gift for your September man or for any occasion. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use as would be expected. All Items : Archives : Estate Jewelry : Gold : Edwardian : Pre 1910 item #1298284 (stock #7113)
An Edwardian 14k yellow gold sunburst diamond and seed pearls ring circa 1900 1910. This unusual antique ring of genuine seed pearls and a genuine diamond is in the sunburst or starburst shape popular with lavalieres at the time, it was more likely a representation of a daisy or some other flower. The sunburst has 10 petals with genuine seed pearls and it has a central claw-set 8 point (measured by flat stone gauge) genuine antique European cut diamond; the shank is stamped 14K with a JIC maker's mark. I have never seen this ring before in 38 years in antiques. It is possible that this piece was produced at a slightly later date, but the ring shank is an appropriate one for the period, and the setting is properly mounted and appears original. This ring weighs 6.3 grams, and it is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses or damage other than some glue residue on a couple of reset pearls (an old repair, and is restorable). The pearls have some colour variation, which is not unusual. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use.
