This 9-1/4" (maximum) chain shrinks to 6-1/8" when the two engraved slides are separated (which contracts the chain forming a double chain between them, shown partly drawn in our second image). It has a t-bar and a swivel as well as two textured balls which act as stops for the slides. It is stamped W.LH.&Co. on the swivel and it is a neat bit of Victorian ingenuity.
