A fine quality two piece antique Gorham sterling string holder, made by Gorham 1890-1900. This lovely string holder weighs 3 ounces, and its pierced design allows you to see if you will soon need more string. It measures 3-1/4" in diameter and it stands 3-1/4" in height. It has the Gorham maker's mark with STERLING B1294 on the bottom, and this item is in excellent condition, with no monograms, corrosion, repairs or damage; there is a tiny dent on the bottom. An unusual find for your silver or string holder collection, and would also work well for pot-pourri. An ornate Victorian or early Art Nouveau period silver plated belt circa 1895 - 1900. This antique hand engraved 25-3/4" long belt consists of a two-part 2-3/4" wide ornate buckle with tongue and loop clasp, which is attached to fancy 1-1/4" across hand engraved panels linked with wire loops with small spacers. It is stamped EPNS with an FFE maker's mark in a shield and it can be shortened by the removal of some of the spacers. A Royal Worcester 6-1/4" face or mask jug with gold made in 1897. This exquisitely detailed jug has superb hand applied gold decoration in the form of wild daisies with yellow and reddish centers along with wild grasses. The gold is thickly applied with ridges and jewelling and the ornate handle is gold as well. The mask or face on the spout is crisp and detailed and this jug has the Grainger Royal Worcester China Works mark with the G year code for 1897. The creamy satin finish glaze is quite attractive and this jug or pitcher has a 328 pattern or shape number. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs. A Tall Royal Nippon 13-3/4" hand painted floral ewer or pitcher from the 1880s. This wonderfully painted and impressive pitcher features lushly painted and coloured flowers including asters and poppies, green leaves and cobalt blue areas along with lush gold highlights. It has gold jeweling and it has Royal Nippon markings on the bottom. A William IV sterling silver vinaigrette made by Thomas Shaw of Birmingham, England 1833. Vinaigrettes were used in the 18th and 19th century as a personal hygiene accessory for the moneyed class and were used to carry pleasant oils and attars or vinegars which were absorbed into cloth pads under the pierced gilded grillwork and sniffed so as to cover up the smells of everyday life (when there were open sewers and waste and garbage were tossed from windows onto the sidewalks and streets below). This 1-7/16 x 1" example has fine hand engraving and it retains the fine openwork grill and gilding. It has the hallmarks and maker's mark for Thomas Shaw of Birmingham, England and the date letter for 1833. It has a gothic M monogram on the top and it is in very good condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some signs of slightly abrasive polishing in the past.

A Georgian Wedgwood black basalt bowl from the 1790 1800 era. In the unadorned black basalt matte finish, this classic antique bowl is stamped WEDGWOOD 6 with an incised broken circular mark near the edge. It is simple in style, 9-1/4" across and 4" high with a 1-1/4" collar and a fine foot rim. A Canton enamel squash blossom jewel or trinket box from the 1880s 1890s. This lovely and large Chinese enamel on metal box measures 4-1/2 x 3-1/2" and it stands 2-3/4" high on its foot rim. It is nicely worked with a fine life-like appearance and the hand applied enamel is in yellow, green and blue. The interior is light blue as is the underside. It is (obscurely) marked CHINA on the bottom and it is in excellent condition with no chips, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs however it does have some small black firing marks and pits along with a couple of small surface losses to the enamel. An exceptional Victorian Tunbridge Ware trinket or dresser box circa 1850s. Tunbridgeware was made as souvenir ware in England and Scotland. It consists of tiny inlaid exotic wood tesserae in geometric designs. This 4-3/8 x 4-1/4" and 1-3/4" high example has a repeating floral pattern on the top, a Greek key design on the sides and a bird's eye maple ground. The lid appears to be rosewood and the box is quite heavy. It retains the original colours which include green, yellow, red and gold and the workmanship is superb. It is in remarkable intact condition with no fading, chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than a bit of warping to the lid. The hinges are intact and our pictures don't even come close to showing the fine detail of this folk art box. A Monarch silver plate handled fruit or bread basket from the 1890s. This great wedding or table decor item has three feet, a fancy swing-up handle and a fancy rim as well as central engraving. It measures 9-3/8" across and it stands 9-1/2" tall to the top of the handle. It was made and marked by the Monarch Silver Co. (a division of the Standard Silver Co. of Toronto, established in 1893). A Wm. Hutton silver plated Arts & Crafts egg stand for 5 with spoons circa 1900. This decadent egg serving stand consists of five 1-3/4" tall ball footed egg cups, the matching 4-1/2" ball-end egg spoons and the fitted 5-7/8" diameter base. The base is in the form of a deep round tray with mounting spikes for each egg cup which has a receptacle hole in the bottom; each egg cup retains some of its original interior gilding. The detachable screw-mound carrying handle has a rack for the five spoons and each piece has the maker's mark for Wm. Hutton & Sons of Sheffield, England. An English sterling silver curb link watch chain with an escutcheon shape medal or award fob. The 14 3/8" length antique watchchain has individual lion passant marks and the watch swivel has the company mark of Henry Williamson Ld (known 1895 - ?). The fob, which appears to be a football award, has the makers mark of William H Haseler and the Birmingham 1915 year mark. The shield in the centre has rse gold and two ornate iniitials, possibly ST. There is one swivel, possibly this was being worn as a unique necklace. It is overall is mostly very good to excellent condition for its age and usage but the swivel loop does show visible wear, and the lion passant marks on the chain appear worn, as is often the case with these sterling chains. A Minton wild strawberries A2625 hand painted berry or fruit bowl dated 1866. This Victorian beauty measures 9-3/8" across and it features finely handpainted leaves, flowers and wild strawberries all in high relief. This bowl is similar to other antique Minton patterns however we haven't definitively identified it. It has the impressed MINTON mark (used from 1862-71, later MINTONS) and a date cypher resembling that used for 1866. This bowl is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, damage or repairs other than some wear and loss to the paint on the high points of the design. This is minor and most apparent on one strawberry, a few leaves and the roots of the plants. A pair of 19thC Japanese Meiji blue and white porcelain covered bowls. This fine pair consists of the 4-3/4" diameter footed bowls and their 5-1/4" covers with a rimmed foot or receptacle on the top. The covers can be placed on the rim to act as side dishes to the bowls. The hand painted blue and white design includes dragons, panels and scenes and each has hand painted gold highlights.
