An M.J. Tobias Liverpool 18k & sterling engraved face Swiss pocket watch from the 1890s. This 14 size or 18 ligne watch is 1-7/8" across and it has a typical unmarked Swiss bar movement, a fancy engraved 18k yellow gold back cover with Swiss gold markings, a dust cover marked M.J. TOBIAS LIVERPOOL HANDS DETACHED LEVER FULL JEWELLED, and a very fancy engine turned and engraved sterling silver face with a village scene under a silver rimmed open face cover with a glass crystal. It has subtle gilded highlights, a single sunk second hand dial, blued hands and applied silver Roman numbers. Tobias started in Liverpool in 1805 and his family later expanded the watch business and started to export Swiss-sourced watches with varying cases and faces to the U.S. This face is one of a small variety of engraved faces we've seen - other configurations and cases were also made. This watch has been kept in a drawer in an estate for decades and it runs and keeps time for a few minutes and stops; it is very clean however it could use a cleaning, lubrication and adjustment and it is being sold as is without warranty. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs. A 15k yellow gold early Victorian rhodolite garnet stickpin from the 1850s. This 2-3/4" tie or cravat stick pin has fine wirework decoration on the 9/16" top which features a bezel-set pinkish-red rhodolite garnet stone. It is unsigned and tests as 15k gold, it comes with a bulldog and it weighs 1.7 grams (sans bulldog). It is in very good condition with no cracks, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than some denting on the back and a miniscule edge chip and a tiny surface flake to one facet (barely noticeable). A Victorian 18k yellow gold shield seed pearls stickpin. This tie or cravat stick pin is in the shape of a 1/2 x 3/8" shield with a perimeter set with seed pearls. It has a textured or volcanic or bubbled surface, a twisted shaft 2" pin and it is stamped SS 18. It weighs 1.7 grams and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than a lightly scratched number on the back. A Regency period rolled gold plate mourning locket with enamel c1835. This 1-5/16" locket features an engine turned design on each side, a watch-style bale for hanging from a chain, pin or chatelaine, and it has a removable central compartment for hair or a memento. The front is hinged and swings out to reveal the contents, which are under bevelled glass (a curl of brown hair and woven black fabric). It has a hand-engraved dedication saying: "IN MEMORY OF Margaret Maclachlin Jane Magregor Died 1839. Dugalt Maclachlin Died 21st April 1849." This pendant has blue enamelling, and it is in very good original condition with no dents, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some shallow denting to the panels, some tiny enamel losses and the smashing of the glass insert. A later Georgian period 15k yellow gold remembrance or mourning ring with genuine pearls circa 1820 - 1830. This beautiful antique size 6 ring is typically unmarked and it tests as 15k, and it most likely of United Kingdom origin. It has a bevelled glass window for hair (no hair present) and the shoulders are thickly sculpted with a multi-floral pattern sometimes seen on jewellery or decor of this period. This ring weighs 3.7 grams, it measures 1/2" x 7/16" across the pearl setting, and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than an early interior piece of gold added to the interior bottom of the shank to make it slightly smaller in size - this inventive type of ring sizing allowed the ring to be made smaller without cutting the original ring band/shank at all! An early Empire 15k superbly carved cameo pin circa 1820. This hand carved shell portrait cameo measures 2 x 1-3/4" and it features lovely tooling with a pierced gallery, and a twist border with applied textured flowers and leaves. The cameo itself is one of the most attractively carved we have seen- simply stunning in detail and she is wearing an Empire headdress. This brooch has the original c-clasp and a loop for wear as a pendant. It weighs 10.9 grams, and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than the loss of two leaves on the border decoration. A Georgian 14k glass emerald and diamonds ring circa 1780-1800. This antique yellow gold (unmarked but tested and guaranteed) ring features a 3/8" across top which has claw set early silver coloured genuine rose cut diamonds surrounding an emerald coloured glass stone. Emeralds then were a scarce and difficult stone to acquire, so the use of a cut glass "gem" with diamonds was not unusual. This ring weighs 2.5 grams and it is in excellent original condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than chips under two claws of the glass emerald stone. A rare early Wedgwood tri-colour miniature jasper cameo pin circa 1790 1800. This English Georgian period 2-1/4" x 1-1/4" tri-color jasperware brooch consists of a Wedgwood miniature plaque mounted in a (later) sterling silver setting. The jasper ware cameo dates to approximately 1780-1800, and this beautiful miniature has a very light blue, white and royal blue edge classical scene of a sacrifice to the gods of classic mythology. This exact cameo appears in the top of a patch box in the 1953 Wedgwood book by Wolf Mankowitz, dated to circa 1785 (plate 97). These miniature Wedgwood jaspers were often mounted in the cut steel jewellery popular in the Georgian period, or were sometimes set into the top of boxes, but were also sold unmounted. The mounting for this pin is sterling silver, with a modern period wheel catch, so it would have been set in the sterling setting at a later date. It is impressed WEDGWOOD with a small cross mark, a deep and not perfectly evenly lettered mark as should be expected in a piece of this age. The pin is stamped STERLING and it has a safety catch. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A genuine George III English Spade Guinea coin pendant dated 1791 and made of 22K gold. This is a genuine antique Georgian period gold coin from the UK - it was only in production from 1787-99. It measures 1" across and it has been soldered to a 14k or 15k mount with an attached loop for wear as a pendant or as a watch fob. This coin shows considerable wear (high carat gold was very soft and wore easily) however the subject matter and date is clearly visible. This pendant weighs 8.4 grams (in total) and it has no monograms, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than the later mount and the expected wear to the coin. An attractive 10K gold bangle bracelet circa 1970s. This vintage 5/16" wide wrapped ribbon design is yellow gold and measures 2-1/2" x 2-1/4" across the interior and it is stamped 10K with an OR in a heart maker's mark.
