A rare and exotic authentic period Art Deco gilt brass and purple glass bead mesh head covering or skullcap hat c1920s. This unusual and fabulous fashion accessory would have been the height of fashion at a speakeasy or dance club; it consists of large gilt brass loops, gold plated chains and purple glass beads. It is unsigned and it measures 13" long when suspended from the central loop and 11-1/2" across the loops. This size 4-1/2 or 4.5 yellow gold ring features a tested golden rectangle cut cut sapphire stone of approximately 3.75 carats (estimated from gauge measurement). The gem color is a golden orange or gold orange colour. It weighs 2.7 grams, and it is stamped 10K with slightly obscured maker's marks and the Canadian manufacture mark. This fine 1-1/8" Victorian pin is in the Aesthetic style and it is a fancy starburst with heart-shaped gold ribbon flourishes. The central stone is a natural (tested) emerald and it is surrounded by graduated seed pearls. A Victorian 14k diamond brooch circa 1890. This antique 1" across whirling circle pin has a free and graceful open filigree design. This round yellow gold pin shows the transition from stylized Victorian to the more flowing Art Nouveau influence. It measures 1 inch across, and in the centre is a claw set clear white genuine European antique cut diamond, measuring 3.5 mm. across (approximately 20 pt. by gauge) - it is is VS2 diamond of I-J colour. It has the original gate-latch safety clasp, where it is stamped 14 K. It is in very good condition, with all of the claw work in excellent condition, and the diamond in excellent condition also, but please note there appears to be an old professional repair visible only on the back of the brooch. It comes with an old appraisal.

Anything Egyptian was all the rage at this time, and this 2-1/4" x 5/8" brooch is typical. The beetles are real, they are a chrysomelid, also known as a tortoise beetle.
