The blades are all stainless steel on these items, and the carving set consists of the 14-1/8" knife and the 10-7/8" carving fork with flip-up knife guard. A 3-1/8" across hexagonal sterling silver fully hallmarked dish with an inset nickel clad (not sterling) coin commemorating the 25th anniversary of the marriage of Queen Elizabeth II and Price Philip (1947-72). The sterling silver dish is fully hallmarked for Birmingham England 1973. The maker's mark is for J Collyer LtD., and there is an additional mark of two Cs on each side of an anchor. A quality late 19thC 750 silver jug with baronial crests by J Wagner and Sohn ( Son ) Germany. This antique 5-1/4" tall cream pitcher has a wrythen or twisted groove style and a thumb rest as well as classic hoof shape feet. It is stamped J. WAGNER & SOHN 750 M, it weighs 195 grams, and it has two finely engraved baronial heraldic crests engraved on one side indicating that it was probably originally a wedding present. -8" in length and 1 1/16" at the widest dinner forks. They are by the same maker, and are the same pattern from the same set, but one has a different year stamp. Two of the forks are hallmarked Edinburgh 1857-58, and four are hallmarked Edinburgh 1881-2. They are all the same size (8" in length and 1 1/16" at the widest), they average 75 grams each, and all have what appears to be a beaver rampant crest. The maker is the same - RG - who may possibly be either R. Green or R. Grierson of Edinburgh. They are all in excellent condition with no worn spots, pitting or damage, & none have been initialled. They show only very minor & expected surface scratches that come from ordinary use, and all are in excellent condition for their age. - $125 ea
-7" in length and 1 1/2" at the widest dessert or soup spoons. They are by the same maker, and are the same pattern from the same set, but two have a different year stamp. Four of the spoons are hallmarked Edinburgh 1857-58, and one is hallmarked Edinburgh 1855-56 (the earlier spoon is 1/16" shorter in length). All have what appears to be a beaver rampant crest and they average 37 grams each. The maker is the same - RG - who may possibly be either R. Green or R. Grierson of Edinburgh. They are all in excellent condition with no worn spots, pitting or damage, & none have been initialled. They show only very minor & expected surface scratches that come from ordinary use, and all are in exceptional shape for their age. - $79 each
-6 1/2" in length and 15/16" at the widest dessert or fruit forks. They are by the same maker, and are the same pattern from the same set, but three have a different year stamp. A 800 solid hand engraved Italian lidded canister or box circa 1930-35. This lovely silver item is gilded on the interior and it has a lobed design with ornate floral engraving. It could possibly have been for cigarettes, although similar items were also prodiced to hold sugar or tea. It is stamped 800 MILANO and A RONCHI on the bottom. The jewellery firm August Ronchi opened in Milan, Italy in 1929 - this firm sells mostly high end jewellery and watches, but has also produced lovely quality silver items in the past. It weighs an impressive 201.2 grams, and it is in excellent vintage condition with no monograms, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. The berry spoon weighs 66.3 grams, it has a fancy monogram, and it has some minor denting on the end of the bowl. The tongs have a fancy G monogram, it weighs 15.8 grams, and it has a hole through each claw for some unknown purpose. A Georgian sterling silver large footed master salt dish dated 1817. This simply splendid high quality English Georgian silver open salt dish is fully hallmarked for London 1817. This 3-5/8" diameter and 1-7/8" high bowl has fine high relief and rather unusual rim decoration of a lion head alternating with a shell, surrounded by flowers, with ornate floral feet. It retains the original gilding on the bowl as well. It is stamped with the maker's mark for William Elliot or William Eaton of London. It weighs an impressive 162.6 grams. It has a small lion rampant family crest engraving on one shoulder (not shown). One of the largest and most unusual Georgian silver open salts we have seen. A large and elegant European silver goblet of modern design by Wilhelm Binder of Schwabisch Gmund (Germany), established in 1869. This goblet apparently dates c1900-10. It measures 8-3/4" (24cm) in height, and measures 4-1/4" (just under 11 cm) across the rim. It weighs approximately 227 grams. It is stamped with the German post-1886 crescent moon and crown mark, 835 WTB and has a company number of 73123 and a small punch mark we could not make out. It has not been monogrammed or inscribed, and it is in excellent condition, with no dents, breaks, corrosion, repairs or damage.
