An unusual grouping of eight vintage 1940s moulded and hand painted hard rubber character figures. We haven't been able to identify the series or origin of this set (can you help?), and the largest, Dumbo, measures 2-1/4 x 2-1/2". Each has handpainted highlights in red and yellow and four have black painted shoes. This set includes the Mad Hatter, the Rabbit, Gepetto, Donald Duck, Dumbo, rabbit with heart, Red Queen, and Alice. Each of the tan/grey figures shows some soiling and minor paint wear, and all are unmarked. The detail is high quality, and this set is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than the soiling and paint losses. This is a 9" across English bone china plate in the Royal Crown Derby 383 Kings pattern. The plate has superb hand painting in cobalt blue, orange, gold and rust red in the Imari palette and it has a ruffled edge. Certainly the finest and most decorative vintage chocolate box we've come across! This is a c1930s-40s (we think) paper wrapped box with an applied print of two kittens on the top. The textured paper wrap is wallpaper thick with lush gold highlights, and this box has a gold Urney applique. The original tied ribbon is also present on this 13-3/4 x 9-3/4" box, which has the original sticker on the bottom (CHOCOLATES - 1-1/2 LB NET MANUFACTURED IN THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND). This advertising container is in excellent condition with no tears, fading, losses, damage or repairs other than a small dent and some minor abrasions to the cat image and some bruising to the bottom corners. A Curt Schlevogt Czechoslovakia malachite glass perfume bottle with a cabochon from the 1930s. Typical of his pioneering work with this type of glass, this 2-7/8" tall and 2-1/2" across bottle has an Oriental motif and the variegated green and gloss and satin finish found on vintage 1930s pieces. It retains its original gilt brass openwork stopper which has a claw-set cabochon green Peking glass cabochon stone. Although the original moulds continue to be used the earlier examples have the variations in the colour and finish of the glass (a couple of dark green lines can be seen but these are colour glass threads, not cracks). A Meissen Scattered Flowers demitasse cup and saucer from the 1920s. This Scattered Flowers pattern 2" tall cup and matching 4-7/8" saucer both have hand painted flowers on the saucer and cup exterior; the cup's inside is undecorated and they have gold trim. In production for a very long time this cup appears to be from the 1920s or possibly before, with a paneled design and round non-scalloped edges as well as an angular handle. Both pieces have the crossed swords mark in cobalt and the cup has an underglaze 39 and gold 44 while the saucer has a gold 44 and underglaze 838 14. This fine porcelain item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs except for a small factory frit burn in the cup (the brown dot in our first picture). This fine quality fully hallmarked Art Deco period sterling silver nail buffer has beautiful rose pink guilloche enamel decoration. A rare and exotic authentic period Art Deco gilt brass and purple glass bead mesh head covering or skullcap hat c1920s. This unusual and fabulous fashion accessory would have been the height of fashion at a speakeasy or dance club; it consists of large gilt brass loops, gold plated chains and purple glass beads. It is unsigned and it measures 13" long when suspended from the central loop and 11-1/2" across the loops. This item is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, losses, damage or repairs. There is some minor wear to the gilding in spots, not too noticeable and appropriate for age. Guaranteed to be a vintage covering, not a reproduction. It was originally lined with a gauzy fabric, which was removed by the previous owner. There are two small spots of corrosion. A very attractive German made 9 x 5-3/4" gold plated brass mounted glass bead floral purse c1920. This purse has deep purple, black, blue, turquoise, green, light green, pink, lilac, red, amber and yellow beads with beaded fringe along the bottom. It has a brass chain and clasp and a yellow cloth interior. It is stamped GERMANY on the clasp and it is darker than our pictures and the beads include deep purple as well as black.
