This scarce bracelet from Japan features eleven 1-1/16" x 3/8" loop-linked panels with inlaid silver and gold on a black matte (actually iron) ground. A 10K white gold synthetic Alexandrite ring circa 1960. This vintage size 5 ring measures 3/8" x 3/8" across the claws, which hold a faceted synthetic Alexandrite stone which changes colour from purple to more of a gray-blue depending on the ambient lighting. These simulated alexandrites are usually corundum laced with vanadium to produce the color change under different types of lighting, or a treated colourless chrysoberyl. This created gemstone has been around for almost 100 years, and the stones usually test as corundums on a gem tester (natural genuine alexandrites are expensive and uncommon, most of what you will see for sale is the simulated version). The 5/16" wide chain has different engraved designs on each side, and the locket has fine hand tooling on the reverse side. A superb and evocative 1-5/8 x 1-3/8" mid-Victorian mourning pin in 14k yellow gold (unmarked but tested). This pin features a carved pink coral hand with black enamel bands on its sleeve, holding a wreath of flowers and leaves. There are seed pearls in the flower centers and there is a claw-set pearl in the center. It has a reeded edge and a c-clasp which has been added a bit later for wear as a brooch; originally it would have been a pendant and a small loop remains at the top. An Art Deco 14k white gold amethyst ring from about 1920. This size 5 oval solitaire ring measures 5/8" x 1/2" across the top and it weighs 4.2 grams. It is stamped 14 K with an arrow maker's mark. The amethyst is a genuine natural stone, is approximately 4 carats in size (estimated in setting by gauge). The elegant scroll and engraving owes as much to the ornate style of the Edwardian period.
