A Trajan silver drachm ancient Roman coin in an 18K yellow gold pendant. This genuine ancient silver coin depicts the Roman Emperor Trajan on the reverse and it is almost exactly the coin depicted here (combine the link in your browser address bar): www.forumancientcoins.com/ (plus) catalog/roman (plus) -and-greek-coins. (plus) asp?vpar=409 (there were subtle variations and differing year marks in this series). It is housed in a custom 18k yellow gold modern pendant setting that replicates a more ancient setting style and it is stamped 18K. It is also stamped R to ethically verify that the setting is a modern version. The coin is set in a bezel and it is intact and unsoldered and the entire weight is 7.1 grams. The coin is in excellent condition and it is struck very well and beautifully centered with smooth surfaces and no overt damage - a truly fine example. Please note that there is wear to the obverse figure and some smoothing of the letters, but it is still a very nice example. This 2-1/4 x 1-5/8" sterling silver photo locket has a complex design and inset rose and green gold highlights on the central flower. It has a full set of Birmingham, England silver hallmarks on the undecorated side corresponding to the year 1884, and it has an I.H maker's mark.
