It has elastic cord threading (re-strung)and it has a staggered orientation of the band's panels (possibly strung differently originally). A Victorian 14k gold synthetic sapphire seed pearls leaf pin brooch from 1880-1890. This attractive2-1/8 x 5/8" brooch is of hollow construction and it has a finely tooled pinioned leaf with seed pearls and a claw-set synthetic sapphire. Fine gem stones like emeralds or sapphires were very expensive in the 19th and early 20th century, so synthetic gems were often used even in gold jewelry. The pearls are natural with the expected surface irregularities and this pin is unmarked but tests as 14k gold. It has the repositioned original c-clasp (the pin closure itself is gold filled) and the leaf rotates around it's original pinion. A Victorian gold filled photo locket on a fancy rolled gold plate chain necklace from the 1870s 1880s. This necklace is unusual in that it is gold filled and not the typical sterling silver and it features yellow gold plate and a strip of fancy bordered rose gold plate setting off the design. It has a subtle matte finish and the rose gold is glossy and it opens up to show two (very faded) baby photos which both have annotations with names and the date 1900 as well as the paper lining, original glass windows and both bezels. The locket measures 2-1/4 x 1" (including bale) and it comes on a fancy 19" long and 5/16" wide rolled gold plated chain which has a springring clasp and a safety chain.
